This afternoon I picked off a dandelion at 35 yards with the .22 caliber Gamo Magnum GR.

It was a lucky shot on my part.

Thursday LGR day.
After a little recoil management routine I broke out my two .22AG
The Condor grouped decent with the NSA .218x27.5 and better with the Norma 17.6....still time before season to try ,219s.
Speaking of which if anyone knows where to find a .219 or .220 bullet sizing die I could cast the 34.2gr MP Molds and spit those jewels at about 70+ fpe....
The Notos still likes the Fx Hades.  Still learning how to use the 5.56EBR reticle in the prism.  I put the horseshoe around the smallest bullcircle I can see as the cross covers the actual bull at 25 yards.

 There was also a pellet sizer sold on Ebay that may work , I bought the .20 size but have not played with it yet.

I have the Ebay sizers in .25 and .22. They do a good job.
Seems like everything NOE sells is out of stock. I mean EVERYTHING, not just sizers. Looks like they cater to PB reloaders.

I shot the 880 after dinner, just having fun with cans. The best part was when the annoying insects came out to pester me and make me pause to swat--followed mere seconds later by the instant-deployment aerial feathered bugbusters! WOW! They swooped and zoomed and snapped up bugs as if it were child's play. The White-Breasted Nuthatches also got into the act, zooming back and forth from the tree hole where I tuck peanuts. They would fetch one and fly right next to me, at my torso height, as if to say, "We got them, thanks!" There was a near-collision between either two male nuthatches or one nuthatch and one swallow, marked by a sound I can only describe as a little-birdy Bronx razzberry.

The Violet-Green Swallows seem to be choosing nest sites now. Pairs were checking out tree cavities as I watched. When I first took the gun out, one lit on top of the dead tree where I hung the soup can. It has a good cavity about 30' high, which I never shoot at. Last year when a bird went to that tree and sat there looking at me, I started my moratorium on shooting that can even though it is lower down. And yes, not long afterward I noticed little feathered faces peeking out from the hole. I resumed later, after they had all fledged and moved on. Tonight, the bird flew off more quickly, so I did shoot the can. Might stop for a while, though, in case they need that hole.

Meanwhile, at least two pairs spent multiple trips visiting a live tree very close to the garage building's human door. I can look right out the window at it. They seemed to be sorting out who gets what, and one pair appeared to have chosen a nice hole under a branch. They sat there even after I went inside to fetch binos and then sat on the ground watching them preen as if not concerned about the human a few feet away. The very human who often makes the long brown stick go bang. They must be used to it, or maybe the sound stirs up the bugs so they get an easy feast on the wing. One of them caught something big, I think a grasshopper, and perched on a bush next to that tree, gulping it quickly before flying up for another trip to the bug buffet.

Tonight the shooting was secondary. The real prize was being visited by these birds.
