So.....what did you shoot today?

Started the morning with a trip into town for a medical appointment. Beautiful weather today so this afternoon the 3622 with a $29 CV-Life 3-9x40 scope (non AO) came out for paper at 25 yards. Really had to back the focus way way way out on the scope.
Thought you guys might like my new shooting bench. Well, mine until the little lady needs to plant some things, LOL. Experimented with chair height and one or two bags.

 Both HW50S' and the Crosman 2100 Classic last night.

 I'm really having too much fun with that Crosman. I bought it a few months ago and never took to it because the stock twisted around, felt loose and plasticky.
Since tightening it up the rifle feels very sturdy and it's just fun to shoot! Definitely worth the $58.

I took the Sheridan out on the front porch and shot a few shots at a bowling pin. For some reason I was having a hard time seeing the front sight 😕. Not sure what that was about cause the last time I shot it I had no problems.🤔

Time of day and angle of sun on that front sight? Those affect all my guns in different ways.

I had to repaint the white mark on my Blue Streak's front sight. Nail polish did the trick.

Also, getting used to the sights on that gun took practice. It might have been that early on I held the gun a bit differently than I did later. Now it is my favorite set of sights UNLESS ambient light is low--at that time the scope is best for me.

Pat you’re probably the only one here that owns their own nail polish.  But it’s one of those things that should be on every airgunner’s bench.  I used to keep several bottles of clear and translucent colors for fly tying.  Now days I borrow it from the memsahib.  Clear nail polish is good for repairs to stock and bluing finishes.  It inhibits rust when applied to scratches and laser engraving.

I shot the sawed-off Crosman Fire today.  It’s a Devil to cock but wicked accurate and 17 FPE powerful.  Belle and I wandered around the pasture taking care to stay out in the bright sunshine and away from the shade.  I thought we might venture back to one of the more remote ponds but as we approached the tree line the advance scouts of a vast swarm of deer flies and sand nats rushed to meet us.  I wasn’t properly attired or chemically treated so I made hasty hoof beats back to the sunny, breezy, middle of the pasture where I had to satisfy myself plinking at pine cones.

I shot the 880 at a steel can's open end (standing) and spinners (sitting on driveway) 33' away. Mostly RWS Superdomes but the last 10 were with H&N Terminators. 53 shots in all. A nice day of shooting, and nice weather while I was out there. The wind was building, and after I finished the rain showers pelted in.

Carter, I had to shop specifically for nail polish to put on the front sight because I had never, ever owned any before or applied any to my fingernails. I felt overwhelmed at first by all the choices, and that was just in a supermarket aisle. Maybe in my old age I should buy some obscenely bright purple glitter stuff to paint my nails.

The new, holographic nail polish is generic and cheap now.  If I had to recommend one wild one that is also kinda trippy, I'd recommend the holographic. [chuckling]

Haven't shot much at all the past few days.  A mouth injury is keeping me up at night and is pretty painful. Hoping to bounce back by Sunday.  With no work to will myself through as the weekend is upon me, might have the strength for some shooting.  Also, the Silver Sreak supposedly arrives today!

I finally slept well for a few hours.  Been in pain since Monday and not sleeping well.  Nerve damage. Eating has been ok since Wed, just gotta pick the right foods. Feelin pretty good.  Figure better by Sunday.

Thursday and Friday I practiced shooting my Beeman R7 .177 at 10m and 20m utilizing the bucket and sticks method.

I haven't shot any of my rifles using this method in a couple of years and never my R7. I was a little rusty to say the least.

 More 2100 Classic plinkin, fun! Played with my Diana 34 and XS25s also trying to decide which one to drop a spring guide kit into.

 As for nail polish, I've been getting the flat-black real laquer variety from Amazon. It really pops with my Goth outfits; trench coat, fedora, $19 Temu samarai sword, etc.   

 Incidentally it works really good for touching up airguns. Especially Benjamin/Sheridan guns and Crosman metal receivers. I stumbled on it when my AS392 front site got rubbed down to the brass and had a weird glint when trying to aim. Good Stuff. 👍

 There is a leaky Air Max Mrodair Target Master (can we have enough names?) cowering in fear behind the D34.

Just 5 pellets with one gun, the Blue Streak. First 2 at the tree-hung can 50' away and then 3 at a can on top of a milk crate 33' away. Shooting angled up, shooting angled down, just to stay familiar with grab-and-go. The next few days' weather forecast has a cold front bringing cold rain, so this is probably the last outdoor shooting for a while.

That gun just keeps growing on me. It's a keeper. Too bad .20 cal is not more common.

 I have been and still am shooting 2 Umarex Canex CO2 rifles, over the crony getting some comparizon numbers etc. I think 15 more shots to the finish line, 65f in the basement range year round pretty much Slow and steady wins the race.

I have a silver streak arriving tomorrow, Pat.  Never had a sheridan, super, silver, blue, or otherwise.  By the mistake of a distributor, I do have some .20 ftt's though!
