I decided I would do a little shooting, before the snow flies, this afternoon, to check out the zero on my scopes.
I was shooting the two Hatsan 125's.
One is a .25 cal. camo Hatsan 125 TH Magnum.
The other is a .22 cal. Walther Talon Magnum.
I was shooting .25 cal. 19.91 gr. Vortex Supreme's & .22 cal. JSB 18.13 Jumbo Heavy's
The target was a 1/2 Hex Bolt with 1 1/4 washers, suspended from a string, set out at 40 yards in the back yard tree line.
I was shooting while standing, semi-off hand, with my off-hand braced on an upright door jamb.
I scored 4 hits with the .25 cal. rifle and 3 hits wth the .22 cal. rifle.
I shot the .25 cal. rifle first and the .22 cal. rifle second, both in rapid succession.
The sky was cloudy and the temp was +8 F with a 9 mph southerly cross wind.
7 hits out of 10 shots. Not too bad for shooting with cold fingers & not having shot these rifles in a while.
I may strap on the snowshoes and get out hunting... later on.....just before the snow storm hits.
The small game that I hunt, can sense storms coming and they feed extensively just before the storm hits.

Believe it or not Tom I really envy you.  I’m a Scandinavian stuck in a hot house.  I LOVE cold weather but it’s in the high sixties today and damp.  I shot my XS60 out the back window of the barn today.  I have recently mounted a Hawke Vantage FFP scope on it and it is zeroed with 14.6gr H&N FTTs at 30 yards.  I’m going to have to get some smaller targets.  The silhouettes and spinners that are challenging with a springer are just flat boring with the Xisico.

I mentioned earlier this morning that the forecast for today was going to be breezy. Well, that was an understatement. Anyway, I did get a little shooting in. I came across a neat rubber target while I was at Wal-Mart earlier today.
I just wanted to see how this target reacts and handle the impact. So, I braved the cold and the wind, and went out with the Urban. Took 2 shots. The .22 easily flipped the target over, and was instantly ready for the next shot. It's nice not having to reset, and as long as you hit it, it keeps changing it's distance and it's perspective. Think I'll be shooting this quite a bit.
At $10, I thought it was just a little bit pricey, but not expensive by any means. I'm happy with the purchase.

30* with that damp & grey chills me clear to my bones...

I see the ice fisherman are out on the lake... so they are happy as well!

I probably wont see  58* until March.

I have been wearing shorts and short sleeves for the last 4 days, froze my tushy off last week and peeling out of clothes this week.

As for shooting, broke out the hernia gun(Hercules .30 double bottle), tried some of the plain base NOE pellets through it, it likes them. This rifle will get the NV scope put on it since and will be used as stationary shooter, it currently  weighs 15lbs with scope. It will weigh 19lbs with the NV scope on it. I use the Caldwell Deadshot as it's rest, you don't want this thing in your lap all day or all night.

I had a good day to shoot. Sighted in the new scope on the R7.  It was 61° cloudy with ZERO wind.

Shot the Octane Elite with the new sight setup at 40 meters and CPDUMs. It’s getting closer.

Looks like tomorrow a chance of rain comes with 10 mph winds.  I'm juggling between two actually three new recent air rifle acquisitions.  The RWS460,  the Hw50,  and the R7. I'm kinda obligated to test and report on the two Weihrauch rifles.
Tomorrow, weather permitting,  I gonna try out the Falcon pellets in the HW50.

Shot several different guns today... mostly ones I haven't shot in quite some time. Ended up revisiting the old FD-PCP... the hundred dollar wonder. Tinkering with that will continue tomorrow.

 OK I'm a day late, kinda embarrassing, I was shooting blanks.  Yes I was dry firing my 880 .30 for function with out any .30 ammo  Felt like a kid that ran out of pellets

If you're referring to my target, it supposedly can handle up to a .45!
This this is very lightweight, I can just see a .45 just launching this thing 50yd

Shot the sx60 in between spraying cabinet parts at the sparrows, I agree with you Carter with this gun I'm gonna have to find something more challenging to shoot at. So far up to 30 yds. they don't stand a chance!

I took a day off from shooting.  I needed to do some work on my range. Needed to paint some spinners and do some thinking about the ideas SteveP-53 and Joanie shared with me. After church I prepared lunch and cleaned the kitchen afterwards.  My daughter from Memphis called then a short power nap. Decided to rearrange the rifles in the safe to make room. Failed at that. Made some coffee,  now sitting on the patio thinking about shooting tomorrow.  I think it is called relaxing.
