So.....what did you shoot today?

One of my 880’s at 20 yds. Indoors benched. Shot both Daisy wadcutters ( made in Spain) and gamo magnum pointed pellets.
Both are super accurate from my 880’s and require no site change between them... got lucky with that.

The gamo’s shoot about an inch or so flatter at 50 yds. though.

To me, mine just "fits" so well.

Scott I REALLY like it, I'll be buying one in .22 when they're available also, the guns are really made well, shoot great and so far it's been very reliable.

Day 2 of my pellet testing with the chinese B1, 10 meters and a new winner was found, jsb 8.44 4.52 size did pretty god and is easily found so this will be the prefered one, i have put a plastic sleeve in her and changed the trigger spring so now she is a joy to shoot! Did a 5 shot chrono test and this is what i got: 130,7

131,6 m/s
Pretty good numbers for a cheap springer, ofcourse not a powerhouse, but that is not what i expected from this gun either, i will however look for another sight i think, not 100% straight

Earlier this morning I did some testing with my PP700SA and I think I'm going to head for the state land early tomorrow morning with it. I haven't had it hunting this year yet so I figured I'd get it out of the moth balls . . . poor gun don't get used enough but it's shooting good with my 19.6 grain pellets.  I'll start out by making sure it's hitting good at about 20 yards.



About 45 minutes ago I managed to get a red squirrel with my Master Blaster in my back yard, earlier I had been out there and seen a couple cruising through my crab trees and a mullberry tree too. I'm glad to say the one that I got was an adult female and she can be seen in the hunting gate.

I've been seeing a lot of road kill raccoons this year out by the state land, I've been seeing quite a few early in the morning too.

Shot the 2400KT with some RWS Meisterkugeln wadcutters.  Cut down a rotten branch some more

Then I had a visitor of the 4-legged busy-tail kind... put some holes in a squirrel's skull.  The first one to kill it and the others to measure penetration. 

3/4 inch penetration passing through the bridge of the nose at a 15 degree angle downward @ 19 yards.  Yes, the little critter was staring at me.

Just superb shooting. I've got a 2400KT on the way. I can't wait to try it out.

19 yards...that sound far enough for a pistol; but, I guess the 2400 and select others are capable of that and maybe a tad more.

How far would you have confidence to shoot a squirrel humanely with the 2400KT?

My stock 2400kt is shooting at 7fpe.  It has the 14.1" l/w barrel and is sighted in at 25yds.


A couple pages back i posted a short vid of me shooting paint balls at around 46yds if i remember correctly.


Could it humanely kill a squirrel at that distance?  I wouldn't try, but it has taken them at 25yds shooting gamo redfires.

Anyone shooting .177 H&N 8.5 Med Sniper pellets?

I'm not having much success (consistency) with them. Only my HW97 will shoot them with any predictability.

My Venom loves all my other pellets (AA, JSB, H&N) in the 8.18-8.64 range; but it doesn't like the med. sniper. 

Perhaps it's the flared skirt on the pellet, or it's the dome design.

Any ideas--other than "shoot what each gun likes" 

I like experimenting and was simply curious what experience others were having....

My 2240 is back together, my prod got a TP upgrade, and ive done enough shootin in the last 4 days to write a book. TODAY.... i got a look at the first rat ive have ever seen in my life on our property... daisy buck bb gun saved the day (why didnt anyone tell me its a rat killer?!) Also played around with the dot sight and chronograph the prod since the TP upgrade, the prod has "let loose" and needs finer tuning for ANY accuracy or consistency      2240 got a few fills today to realign the green laser since its disassemble/part swap, still as accurate as before the breakdown also had my first "BLOW OUT" on a squirrel earlier and was shocked/high anxiety...

Anyone shooting .177 H&N 8.5 Med Sniper

My 2400kt likes both the lights and mediums.  Shot only a handful with the  hw30 and not impressive at 20yds.


Not finished experimenting with the 2400, wh, and rws34.

I don't know what is going on.  I went from head shots at 25 yards on Chipmunks to missing Squirrels at less distance.   POI shift for sure, but I am not certain why.

And, because of the "bad" neighbors (the ones I am certain burgled me) I can't shoot much nor even mount my new Athlon 8-34X56 scope and test it.  (heavy sigh)

Not to mention, the Athlon can only focus down to 15 yards (and it may not focus THAT close), so I can't even test it on my indoor "range" which is only 10 meters.

Oh well...   I'll figure it out eventually.  (smile)

At least you got to attempt a shot! I've got one in my yard so cagey that I can't even unlatch the deadbolt without spooking it.  But, I'm patient!!!!!!!!!!!

And, Kerry--sorry to hear that it was one of those kind of shooting days when there's a miss, a scope shift, a blurry scope because the distance range can't track, etc.  Tomorrow is a whole new experience; we can only hope!
