Ran about 100 pellets out of the new XS12.It is coming into shape.
Archie, If you remember I bought this XS12 for my Grad-daughter. I think Mike did a great job on smoothing it out. Cocks easy and the shot cycle is a "thud" not a "Twang". While it is a step up from her Gamo Recon and Crosman Raven. It's initial accuracy had me concerned. 3" groups or larger at 10-15 yards, it hates CPHP's. Then I switched pellets and it did a little better. Last night I was getting 1" groups at the same distance so it IS improving. But hardly HW quality, at least what I expect from a German gun.
Nothing... YET!

Stalking from inside my house is an art!I have 2 windows I can shoot out of, which I call my kill zones. They are safe to shoot through as there is a wood fence as a backstop.Often I see targets that are not in the kill zones and have to wait, sometimes hours, for the shot to come into place.I live in an urban area. I have some neighbors who appreciate what I do and others who WILL call the police on me.So, Patience Grasshopper! (chuckle)
To miss at 60 yds is understandable; but to miss a vertical shot at 8 yards.... Guess I'm the grasshopper here.

Guess I'm the grasshopper here. Oops... did I miss the story about the missed verticle shot at 8 yards? Or am I having another senior moment? Well, I typically only inform others of my great successes, not my abject failures--so, no, I just sorta slipped that little eye catcher in, hopping the ever, so sad story would not come out. Saw tree rat foraging just 5 yds in front of my front door. After quietly opening the door and making sure the squirrel was still there, I walked back to the back door, grabbed my handy-dandy HW95 (with scope set for 15-20 yards) and headed back for the "kill." Blasted nutter was gone!!! Nope, I saw him--vertically head down, beautifully positioned against a big tree trunk. I aimed a tad high because I'm learning that my scope POI substantially provides false feed back at under 10 yard shots. Oh well, the parallex being set wrong does so, too. Shot over it--total miss. When will I ever learn to make all those twenty adjustments before I shoot my high-powered pellet rifle all of 5-8 yards. ArchieDucking and running but still having fun and being safe
I took out the 22 cal. Benjamin Trail NP XL 1100 this morning and did a little shooting with it. I had not shot it since last January during hunting season. I set a target box out in the woods. I paced off the distance at approximately 50 to 55 yards. The foliage was so thick that I could barely see the box and could not put it out further. I was shooting 22 cal. 14.3gr. Crosman Piranha's. These are the lightest weight pellets that I ever shoot in this gun. I had to place the target box on a vine, up & off the forest floor, in-order to see it. I secured the box with twine so that it would not fall on impact. I then took some closer in shots, at a spinner, to check out the scope and re-familiarize myself with this rifle. The spinner had been set out to around 25 to 30 yards. I then shot this longer range group at the box. It measured about 1 inch with three shots taken. I was satisfied and put this rifle away. I took the shots while standing with the rifle braced on a walk-thru door way going out the back of my garage. The point of aim was dead center at the bullseye. My shots were a little to the left and a little high.Best Wishes - Tom
Tom,From you, that's normal; but, hey, what can we expect from such a "superman"? Really, congrats on such excellent shooting of such a hard gun to tame.Have fun,Archie
