45 degrees so I went out on the deck and shot a few pellets through the P17.   I leave a P17 next to the deck door so I can grab it anytime I feel like firing a few shots off the deck.

High temp today is forecast to be about the same, mid-40ish. I was thinking how awkward it'd be to load pellets in the P3 but want some offhand practice with it. Thanks for the reminder that shooting from inside out the door could be an option. Either that, or grab the Model 25  already loaded with some BBs.

Way humid here. I turned the ac on in the shop and the casting shack just to keep the air dry.

Shot a few mags with the Avenger.
I noticed movement in the woods maybe 50 yds. out near the retention pond. I glassed it and it was a medium size red tailed hawk on a branch. It was scanning the pond for a meal. I zoomed until it filled my entire scope. A couple times it seemed to look directly at me and stare. I must admit... it was a bit intimidating.
Eventually it swooped down to the pond but it was under the bank and I couldn't see if it was a successful hunt. I never saw it come back up.

 Shot the Crosman 362 a bunch. Had never really given it a serious workout since installing a steel breach and silhouette style front sight..
The Tech Sight 200 really brought it together. I'm liking this configuration a lot.

I shot the self cocking Crosman 760 with some different pellets and copperhead BB’s.  When I was a kid the 760 was the most ubiquitous air gun around.  It seems like all my friends had one.  Not me.  I had a 1400. So I couldn’t participate in BB gun wars.

Here we are fifty years later and I’ve got a minty 4th model self cocker.  I never thought much of the 760.  It was a “BB gun” and not suitable for hunting.  I tried to tell my buddies that but they wouldn’t listen.  They went right ahead and eliminated birds, frogs, snakes etc. pretty much what ever got in front of the gun.     

After playing around with the little gun for a couple of days I have a whole new impression.  Yes it’s a smoothbore but surprisingly accurate enough to hit and kill small animals at fifteen to twenty five feet.  There’s more power here than I expected.  In a few minutes I’m going to chronograph the gun and see what kind of numbers it’s making.

Fifteen shots with the Blue Streak out the door to the soda can hung at the pellet trap 33' away. I had shot the can a lot the day before with the P3, also out the door at the same distance, but it still had two irregular swaths of metal to break. The Blue Streak got it down to a thread dangling the lower half almost to the trap's floor.

It was too dark to see well by the 15th pellet, so I called it a day.

The scoped 880 will be next on that can. If I have to crank the power up to 7x to see the tiny thread, that's what I'll do.

Cold, wind, and intermittent snow showers are making every day a roll pf the dice for outdoor shooting.

Took a barely-used B25H out of the closet and promptly broke the scope stop off within 10 shots. Tightened all the screws and the scope is still sliding backwards. I'll sleep on it and decide what to do tomorrow. Right now, I'm thinking that I'll take the scope off and, if I can find one in my multiple parts bins, put a Hatsan scope stop on the rails. I'm also considering just putting the original scope stop back on using J.B. Weld.

I went with the J.B. Weld option. I'll let it cure overnight, remount the scope, and see what happens...

I put some black paint over the J.B-welded scope stop, cleaned the 11mm rails on the Xisico B25H and the scope mount base edges with acetone, and remounted the scope. Then I put it back in the closet to take out again in a week or two after I'm sure the epoxy and paint have fully cured and dried.

In the meantime, I took a Crosman Vantage out to shoot instead of the Xisico.

I took the scope stop off of my other Xisico B25H, and will be looking for a screw that is stronger/harder than the original, so the screw that holds the scope stop is not sheared off from the recoil of both air rifles.

I'll probably need to cut a longer screw to size and/or add spacer washers.

Had the Flash QE out for bit this morning and I'm happy to report that it really likes my cast pellets. The 19.40 hunters and the 22.60 magnums shoot well with it.
I had just got the P-Tact out and Betty Lou wanted to make a store run. So, I'll be shooting that this afternoon.

I spent several hours testing pellets in the 760.  It is remarkably accurate for a smoothbore.  This gun is going to be more fun than I thought.
