Took a stab at adjusting the Laser sight on Harley with some water bottles.  I put the windage on the front post, but could never get the elevation right.  Best was an H&N 23gr slug 1/2" below POI at 10yards. As it turns out 2-point slinging the Notos CRK without the tree stand seams to have solved the "small game tool" during big game season.   CPHP14.3s were high no matter which way I turned the unindexed Allen screw.  The Apollo 18HPs did go in the 2240 Barrel but very tight.  The 18gr pointed Apollos won't fit in the Crossman barrel...If I can't get an optic I like  on this project I guess I'll start working on the "intuitive sighting" I read about on a longbow blog and see if I can  apply it to AG Pistol....lol

Was shooting my Avenger to try to see why it was all over the place yesterday when I was shooting at black walnuts in the tree... eventually noticed that the scope was a little loose, rear mount was a little loose on the rail but the front one was loose too but tight on the rail... dang rail screws pulled the threads in the receiver, will stop at the hardware store and see if I can find any slightly longer 3mm screws, I know I have some on hand somewhere but don't remember where... might have to get a helicoil kit for 3mm...

I can testify that the Quick Kill techniques work.   I received one of the Quick Kill/Skill kits back in the 60s.   My brother and I practiced shooting aerial targets for many hours and actually got reasonably good at it.   Hitting thrown cans in the air wasn't too difficult.   We never got to the skill level of hitting coins though.  I still have that Quick Kill/Skill rifle.   It's a Daisy 95 on the inside.

I have one of those 95s. Betty Lou has it hanging above one of the windows in her kitchen. She also has a few older Red Ryders and a Rochester hanging in her kitchen.    I just love that girl.

Shot the Gamo Hunter Maxim . Catastrophe all over the place _tighten the stock screws and back to good again.
Of course it was the last thing I thought of.

I shot a few 30 yard spinner spoons this afternoon with my peep-sighted HW30S.   The 25 yard spoons were in such deep shade I couldn't see them with my old right eyeball.  Maybe tomorrow OR shoot a scoped rifle?

Have I mentioned how much I love that peep-sighted HW30S?

The Notos on 2-point sling is so light I've almost take pistol of my tools list...

My partner in KS (75) is having issues with his legs.
I (78) am a little more active than he is but I think I will start shooting FT again for a little (very little) more activity.
So, with a match is coming this Sunday I have been shooting the TX.
At over 10.5 pounds it is pretty heavy for this ol’ codger after shooting the PRod for awhile.
Rain here in the SF Bay Area so it is indoors at 10 yards, offhand.
I warmed up with about 20-25 8.64s then five more for you.

After taking a trip out of state and not shooting for two weeks, I was happy on Tuesday that nothing had noticeably deteriorated when I shot the 880, all standing offhand from 33’ to 55’ (40 pellets). Today I got on the P3 for 50 rounds at 33’, mostly standing offhand; everything with that was still the same as before the hiatus, too.

 

Gonna have to figure out a good setup soon for indoor practice. Not so happy about that. Won’t be able to get 33’ distance inside.

I received a pellet order from Midway USA the other day and I wanted to see if this lot were as good as the last.  I got out Stubby, my other favorite Crosman 1400,  and shot some 17.6gr Norma GTFT at various ranges.
Yep.  Just as good as the last bunch.

Nothing!  It was a beautiful day out so when I got home we raked leaves.  It’s dark now and Mrs. P is getting something ready to go in the oven for dinner.  I sure love that girl!
