So.....what did you shoot today?

Went to our family farm and shot .25 Tomahawk, .177 Theoben Sirocco Deluxe, and custom stock .177 HW50 at a soda can standing off hand at 50 yards.

Started off the morning checking the bird feeder for nice friendly conduct, but discovered some black winged creatures with yellow beaks harassing the local family of doves, and woodpeckers. I volunteered my services as a pest controller, and deployed my tx200 (.177) Soon peace was restored and there were a few less yellow beaks in the neighborhood. Then those who would have others raise their young showed up to mooch some food, and try to find out where to do their nasty taks......so the tx200 added more blood splatter to the ground near the peach tree nearby. There was a lull in the action so I went to get another coffee, and when I returned, there was a larger bird there, making a pig of itself, and scaring away all the lesser birds, so the tx200 dispatched the marauding punk hair looking bully in short order. I had to go out and remove that carcass because even a dead one scares away all the other nice birds, and while doing that, I opened the top doors of the greenhouse, thereby blocking my clear shot to the bird feeding station.....action ended!

It rained off and on today so I parked myself on the back stairs and shot out the window at my backstop thirty five yards away.  I fine tuned the C362 zero and shot the resetting spinners until I got tired of pumping.

Continued shooting the akela this morning with coffee, continuing yesterdays exploration on the new tune. The 10.5 premiers are doing well with the TP adjuster one step down from max (900 fps about). The ftts with the TP two steps down going 815 didn't do as well but the mag also didn't like them. The ftt greens with the TP two steps down did well going 915ish after the first two shots.

My Daisy 853 Avanti quit working yesterday.  I had been shooting my peep sighted and red dotted HW30S' but it was too dark under the trees to see the spoons so, I set up 10M targets for the 853 and it was working fine until the bolt jammed and the power dropped.

I have all the Daisy parts but I'm not up to taking the gun apart.  Who can I send it to to get it tuned?

For some masochistic reason I took the B3 out for a few shots.   As I loaded it, I wondered how many fingers have been amputated by B3s.   It really looks like it was designed to cut off fingers.  I keep thinking that I have to sell this horrid thing but maybe I should keep it and shoot it occasionally.  It will give me perspective on how good I have it  when I'm shooting much nicer AGs.  (and that much nicer AG is pretty much every AG in the world)

I have a few B3 in my collection. One I've had since the biginning of this current fling.
I dubbed it "FU Man Chew" for obvious reasons.

For some masochistic reason I took the B3 out for a few shots.   As I loaded it, I wondered how many fingers have been amputated by B3s.   It really looks like it was designed to cut off fingers.  I keep thinking that I have to sell this horrid thing but maybe I should keep it and shoot it occasionally.  It will give me perspective on how good I have it  when I'm shooting much nicer AGs.  (and that much nicer AG is pretty much every AG in the world)

Got into B3's when I got started.  Find them to be pretty nice shooters once they've had some tinkering.

I've thought about some B3 tinkering.  I mean like, how badly could I screw up a $30 gun?  But I've got too many nicer things that need some work so I'll probably leave  the B3 in it's natural, awful state.

Broke out the Urban to take out a garden pest, still spot on. I forgot how quiet this gun is, you can hear the pellet hit its mark.

So I interviewed my neighbor, and he never noticed the .30 cal, but when I shot the Sheridan, he said it sounded like a 22 rifle.

Wow, this Crown is smooth and quiet. I was expecting it to be a lot less yard friendly.
I shot about ten into a 3/4" bullseye, but my accuracy was hindered by too easy a let off, winding up firing before I was fully locked on.
I was at 28 yards, with the scope at 24X, lol.
Now I have to build a lane and trap with some range to it.

 Shot the .22 Chaser that I gave to a coworker, as a house warming gift, he is really digging that little carbine, I see him walking from the house he lives in across from work with in tow every morning since I gave it to him. Today he mounted the scope and shoulder stock along with silencer, and wanted my opinion on his sight in

Everyone needs at least one B3 in their life. My Blue boy Industry Brand B3-1 would be the keeper if I had to get rid of all my air guns. Also my favorite Peak B4-2. Looks like a B3 but a little smaller, shorter receiver, different trigger group. Refinished both stocks, the B4 light oak and the B3 blue varnish. Had Weaver rails mounted on both. A Hawke 2-7x32 mildot AO scope on the B3. In a groove on the rail between the tall see-thru rings the rear peep of a Mini 14. Can't remember what scopes on the B4. Both have AK/AKS web slings and rubber slip over recoil pads. B3's a pretty good shooter, B4's a tac driver. BTW they both have anti-bear trap safetys  that work just like the HW97.

Went completely through it, with all the tips I got from "Kermit Airgun Club" out of Texas.

When I read about positive experiences that others have with their B3s, it makes me think I must be completely missing something.   And then I think I should unbiasedly do some tinkering with it.  So many things, so little time.

Finally got to sit down and enjoy shoot an air gun, broke the Urban a few days ago for garden pest removal. I am using the H&N baracuda extreme hunter pellet in it. It one holed so much I had to move around  the target to make sure I was hitting it. Now I can surgically remove the pests without destroying the garden in the process.
