Speaking of vehicles, the Russo-built Lada Niva had a short stint in the Philippines back in the late 90s.

They were expensive, hence hard to sell except to mining companies.

I was shocked when I saw in action, pulling 2 Land Cruisers out of the mud at a mining site

It was so small (and ugly), it looked like a tugboat, but oh, what power 👍
