SKYOWA, I honestly hope that those compressors work well for their owners for a long period of time, makes the portability factor a real game-changer for a lot of people, and the ability to run off 12V is a godsend as well when no 110v is available. The Jury is still out on that one however as to how they'll last. I know Travis Whitney our fearless leader has tested so many of the Chinese compressors, he's managed to kill a lot of them on the test bench, and then there's the availability of parts. Parts are the Achilles heal for most of the little china compressors as they're either hard to locate or are nonexistent.
Longer term, like a few weeks from now, I want a bottle but my plan is to fill my Avenger with the Yong Heng directly for a few weeks to let it run for much shorter periods of time. I will probably also fill to 3500 initially too. Break it in slowly. I'll also keep a close watch on the oil and change it after I get 10 hours or so on it or it gets dark. I change my new cars after 1500 miles or so. Oil, even special high pressure compressor oil, is not terribly expensive. Only filling the relatively small capacity gun should also keep my temperatures low (but I will monitor).
Not slamming the YH at all, that was the one I had intended to buy originally, but then I found the GX CS2, it's air cooled and oil free, and is building a solid reputation, I'm maybe 20 fills into mine with zero issues, and I like that I can just haul it to the range, plug it in and go without all the water cooling etc. So far, filling a 280cc tank from 0 to 3000psi has taken roughly 10 minutes, the head temp never climbed above 118F. The fans are high speed brushless, suckers move air like you wouldn't believe
The description of that 12V compressor on Amazon says it is not for filling bottles - anything larger than 1 liter. The fill times quoted are also pretty long, relatively, for filling guns. So that is consistent.
I made the jump and got the last one from Walmart website. $333 with 4 year warranty and tax. I’m awfully curious how the warranty works if anyone has tried it. The wife has a sensitive nose, she can detect a beer drank four hours ago. :-(Any updated info on best oil for no smell I’d like to use in my sun room. Thanks.
