Bought 2 refurb Daisy 426 CO2 BB pistols today for $28 shipped. gonna have some fun with those.

The quality of this scope is stupendous.  The finish is so well done, and the construction is better than what you can buy today.  On top of that the eye relief is 24"!!  I'm pretty well impressed as well as happy with this acquisition.

  I got a nice deal on eBay myself that came in yesterday. A 70's Weaver V22-A 3-6x18 DualX that looked nearly new and works great for $34.90. I put it on my Crosman model 70. And then took the Centerpoint 3-9x32 mildot off it to put on the RWS 320M with the Hawke mid-rise match rings already on it. I need to change the white hospital tape on the V22-A to black electrical tape that's skinnier and will hide better.

Man, that's a heck of a deal!  I couldnt touch any nice pistol scopes for anything approaching that.  I did see an old weaver as well that looked extremely nice.

Squirted down to Baker Airguns dropped of the core part for the benjamin 130, and some cast pellets for them to try. Also bought a level for my urban to see if it helps having it on there or not.

Tried out a $22 Amazon refurb Sightmark reflex sight on my Disco.  Could not get decent groups.  Dunno if lack of consistent cheek weld along with parralax caused it.  Gave up and went to the Williams aperture sight and then the 30-9 UTG on QD mounts as a sanity check. 

The peep and scope were on the money and tight groups even offhand, so the Sightmark is just not working on the Disco.  Too close to the eye?

For grins, mounted the SM on my 2240 and got fine results.  Never used an optic on a pistol before, seems like cheating, but it works.

From what i saw briefly, the optic improves things just a bit, I am still a wobbly olde farte with a handgun.

My package from Pyramyd came yesterday. Mostly just small stuff like a pellet pen and some pellets, but two items have seen some use already. One was the moly grease, used for lubing a hedge trimmer I had picked up for $4 but that needed some work on the cutters.

The other was the P17...everybody has been talking about how much fun these are, so when one of my former graduate students, now happily employed, gave me an appreciation gift in the form of a Pyramyd Air gift certificate, I knew of at least one item had to be in the cart at check out. Tried it out some last night when the wife was shopping (she doesn't know yet...); fun little pistols.

Of course, that means the 1377 is no longer the pistol of choice by default, being the only pistol in the house up until now. Then again, there was a steel breech kit in that box from Pyramyd and it's high time I finish that stock I started for this pistol many years ago.

I'll be honest, my defensive practice with my sidearm (colt 1911) is more focused on fluidity and muscle memory than anything else.  I can get some very tight and very fast groups at 25 yards with my 1911 without actually looking down the sights.  I look over or diagonally beside  them and they do help reference where the gun is pointed, but in a close quarters defensive scenario, you won't have time to actually line your sights up like that.  Some people do use very small optics on their CCW as they are much quicker and easier to line up with.

Airgun pistol shooting for me is more about precision, feel, and trigger control.  It's a very different practice but is definitely improving my long range (or slow fire) accuracy

I can say, with certainty, that I am MUCH more accurate with my SD handguns than I am with the 1377.   I don't know why, except that I have MUCH more practice with the SD handguns than I do with any airgun pistol.   The 1377 is the only AG pistol I own now.

Also, I guess since my life might depend on it, I have put much more time into SD hand guns than ANY air gun.  (smile)

Some airgun pistols (like mine and yours) are tricky because of hammer inertia.  All of  mine get muzzle flip from the hammer starting its motion before the valve is even struck.  So, the balance is fine tuned on my target pistol to reduce this effect.  Lightened hammer, lightened hammer spring tension. An adjustable length/weight moderator acts as a tuneable muzlle weight.  And the grip on mine has been significantly reduced in size/volume to improve balance point.  That and tuning the trigger will seriously aid in allowing you to better work with the inertial shift.  (less pulling back on the gun allows you to easier stabilize its push back when the hammer moves forward).



Also, I have a 1322, and it had several inherant flaws that did not lend to accuracy.  Mainly in regards to barrel/breech mounting.

  And the first Weaver V22-A I bought myself in the 70's is on my 760 Powermaster variant 4 (1/77) that Donnie Reed gave me;

  Good little scopes worth what reasonable amount they cost for mid to low power Co2 rifles', 760's or the like. And since the model 70 is a 1973 first year, the scope is period correct on it too It mostly needed the longer scope to span the wide breech opening and give proper eye relief as well.

Oh, it was another pistol scope.  They both look very nice on both of those rifles.  I imagine the glass is extremely clear.  Your 760 looks to be of superior quality as well.

The 13xx is very well balanced, so it's hard to notice.  I'm pretty sure my Diana and artemis pistols (same internals)  use rifle springs and hammers.  And they're shorter, and most of the weight is in the back.  If I take the moderator off and let the gun do what it wants, I'll easily high 5-6" high at 20 yards with the lighter recoiling of the two.

Took delivery of a 25 caliber impact.  Sad to say, I don't like it 😐 Don't like the balancing point, don't like the dimensions or angle of the grip.  It's heavier than my crown.  I like the adjusters and controls on my crown better.  And it's not as natural to point.  Single shot loading is also very awkward.

Aww bummer!  That’s an expensive rifle to NOT like it.  Maybe you will get used to it over time and use.
