The FX Chrony showed up today!  Now I have to figure out how to use it, it apparently doesn't come with a manual!

Currious how well it works.

It works quite well.  It helps to watch the videos on FX's website because there is no manual, but once it's set up, it does a good job.  I like that it shouts out the velocity as you shoot so you don't have to look at it to see the results.  It also will save the results to the clip board so you can paste them in an e-mail to transfer to your computer.  There is plenty of room for updates in the app, like calculating the FPE and recording it as well.  But, I suspect there will be updates in the future.

Keep me updated if anything arises over time with use (good or bad).

Im liking the idea of being able to set it way down range to get an accurate FPE at certain distance.

I'm not sure that will work, they recommend placing it behind the muzzle.  Also, if it does work down range, the distance is going to be limited to the range of the bluetooth signal.  I have a 37 yard range in my back yard, I may give it a try later today and see if it works.

  After giving the AIR17 I found in The Closet of Lost Gold back to my #2 son, I finally found one for myself on the auctions that's like new! Beautiful condition for $115. Build date on this one is 8/86. My son's is 1/87. Being a Vietnam-era man, I'm sure he'll like it. I've seen some write that there were 3 variants of this rifle? I don't know about that? But this '86 model does have a bit more heft to it than the '87 I gave back to my son.

He reported to FT Lewis In '78 ( now joint base Lewis Mcchord iirc ) but the A1 was still standard issue at the time.
He's got one Air-17 already but I knew he has been wanting to have a second one so I went ahead and jumped on this one.

I just missed the last draft for 'nam by 3 digits! I wish I would've wound up doing one tour of duty just for a lil payback. But this one does look a lot like the one from that era. So it sorta covers another facet of that time period for me.

LOL!  17 joules is only 12 FPE...  I think if I were wanting something for home defense I'd want something that's going to do more than just PO the intruder!  Now, for something fun to mess around with, well, that a while another story!

Most definitely not for home defense. Itd work better as a club.  It looks pretty darn fun to shoot though, it would be my first paintball gun

It's a cool airgun, but I agree with the other posts that say that it would not be a good self-defense "weapon" (except, as already suggested, as a club).

I am getting mine from one of the wonderful members here on GTA.
New / unused.
I had not seen the 1911 on HPA's sight for some time and always heard horror stories on Blue Forks delivery times before HPA started carrying them.

 Sadly, I think the supply is going to dry up.
 I see HPA has this posted in there slide show.

Both of mine are with Magnum Airpower ss sears.

Trigger pull is very sensitive and superb.

As I peruse through Wally World, I do my customary routine of checking out the sporting goods dept. Usually, it's the same old, same old, but today I spied something new. The Gamo P-430 CO2 bb/pellet pistol. At a mere $40, I went ahead and grabbed one. I'll have to do a little review on this neat, inexpensive pistola.

They will be gone eventually and will be a rarity of some sort.

It is a nicely machined piece but I am not overly impressed with the anodizing, hence I sanded off the sharp edges/corners with light grit sandpaper and had them beadblasted.

As a side note, the anodizing is pretty good but I am too much of a perfectionist that I can find flaws not often visible to others  ..

Even the slightest anomaly bothers me, even a pin ^#(*%  ..

Btw, the frame itself is a T6 material but the trigger blade is of very soft material and would easily scratch.

I refinished mine and taped the sides when I reinstalled them, and slowly peeled them off.

A Crosman 22××/13×× trigger shoe is a good fit--a bit of play is present but the 2 set screws will remedy that.
