Ordered a Leapers dovetail to Picatiny rail adapter from PA to get the height needed for my Disovery scope and use up some of these "Rail mount" rings I have acquired with past scope purchases.

Have an FX Royale 400 in .22 coming!  Traded with a member here for it.  Looking forward to getting it, it's got a synthetic stock, so it will be my new Rat Sniper weapon!  I sweat scratching the laminate stock on the Dreamline every time I take it outside!  Hopefully, the Royale will prove to be as consistently accurate as the Dreamline has been, and it eats cheaper ammo!

I have a Deadshot tripod I normally shoot from and it’s setup indoors shooting out the window of my office, so normally it doesn’t see the outdoors. When I rat snipe, I use a cheap tripod rest and typically have the AG leaning against a wall when I’m waiting for a rat to show. I have yet to have one topple over, but it’s probably just a matter of time before it does. I only own 3 air guns with wood stocks, and the laminate stock on the Dreamline is by far the nicest!  I just want to keep it that way!

LOL!   My "setup" is much more crude.   For the "short range" 15-25 yards, I have a step ladder with a towel wrapped around the top "rung/handle" that places the Freedom just about right.


For the "long range shots",  I have to place a cardboard box on my desk (table) where my computer is and a couple of cushions on the desk chair for height.  LOL!

Luckily, most of my pesting shots come in on the short range.   And even then, I swear there is such a thing as holographic Squirrels and Chipmunks!  (chuckle)

I typically target shoot from this rest, it's 37 yards to my target stand.  I can also pest from this spot, but it's shooting through the chainlink fence.  When I rat snipe, I move to the back yard and open the gate to the woods behind me.  I have a clearing that runs approximate 60 yards into the woods.  I have a target set up at 40 yards from where I sit and just put the buffet under the target!  But that sitting on a folding tripod stool shooting from a folding tripod rest.  Inside is from the Deadshot sitting in my office chair, much more comfortable and stable!  LO)L!

I shoot from 3 yards back in the house.   Stealth/quiet is necessary where I live.   My kill zones are very small, so I often see targets (or I used to) that I can not shoot.   I will not shoot through a chain link fence either.   Although there is more air than fence, I am sure my pellet would find the fence and from there I have  no idea where it might go.

Backstop, I`m glad you don`t shoot through the fence. If you were my neighbor I`d call the cops on you. Those would be my targets you`re shooting!

LOL!   Thankfully my neighbor on THAT side of the house is cool with me shooting across his "rental" property.   Yeah, he does not own.   But he is a good guy!

He has a 10x20 pen for his 2 dogs.   That pen does keep me from shooting at times, but I would never risk hitting those dogs.

I did shoot through chain link one time on my own property.   The pellet did miss the chain link (2 layers) and also missed the Chipmunk I was trying to hit.   The only good thing is that the Chipmunk has not been back.   (grin)

I think I might shot about 10 pellets before... But the 5 I shot. 410, 413, 405, 404, 396. Avg 405 FPS.. With 14.3's. Which is around what Tom Gaylord says a 150 shoots.

I have a few and I would agree with Tom Gaylord based on my experience with them. I have a few that are a little weak and one that is a little strong. 375 for the weak one and 440 for the one strong one if I remember right, I had my test data but can't lay my hands on it now. I do know most were close just under or just over 400 FPS with 14.3gr

Most of the 150's I have gotten either have a very hard O-ring that leaks or someone put a soft one on it that swells, so that is "par for the course" as they say. If you wait a while it will shrink back down to where it will work again though.

Today was a fruitful day.



The 140 arrived in the mail today, and I bought some stuff.
Pellets, a crosman target,  then some sandpaper steel wool and WD-40.
The sandpaper and sanding block is for the work on that 1377 stock I got from vigilandy, the steel wool which I suppose will also get used in final finishing of that stock but it and the WD-40 I bought for removing the light rust from the 140.

After some oil the 140 still doesn't pump, feels like it's compressing a little but going right through the gun.
The barrel also turns left to right which I don't know the cause of.

Overall the condition is pretty good.

Nice project David!

Just ordered the seal kit from Baker airguns.
I'm pretty sure oil isn't gonna fix this one , when you pump it the air just flows right out the valve.
The transfer port seal was hard and busted, I'm assuming that's why the barrel turns.

It may not show up on camera, but 5 min with the 0000 steel wool + WD-40 and all that's left is some brown patina.
That's how I'm going to leave it as well as the wood, the gun is at least 50 years old and a kid probably made many memories with it.
It wasn't made yesterday and I won't have it looking like it was.
