always an adventure to settle them down for easy shooting bliss.
Congratulations on your new HW95. Wishing you the best with it. Once you get her cleaned up and tamed to your liking, I am sure it will treat you well.PS: Looks like you have a great little helper, shown in your avatar.
We need to see if your hw95 .17 or your hw95 .22 turns out to be the most fun to shoot. Keep us posted
Congats, looks like a quality piece of equipment.
Enjoy her Brett!!!I would dig into her right away also bro.A friend got a new 95 22 cal this past summer. That lady jumped and twanged and bounced all over....we couldn't even zero the scope!!I'm sure after 10,000 rounds she might've smoothed out a bit, but why wait?? Put a Vortek kit in and the lady behaves nicely now!!Open her up!!!I also agree with trying JSB and H&N FTTs.I have a TX, Pro Sport, 97 and 98.....not one of them shot Superdomes well!My 98 likes CPLs, JSB 8.4, 10.3 and FTTs in 4.51 best.Enjoy and let us know how she behaves!!
Brett, have you ever tried the milk jug tune. There have been threads about it, but off the top of my head, I don't know where I read it. Anyway, the idea is to wrap a sleeve cut from a plastic milk jug around the outside of the spring and inside the piston. In addition to the new spring guide and top hat, I also did this mod to my HW50s. It is a very pleasant shot cycle IMO, with all stock parts and Mccarri lubes. My seal looked undamaged, so I didn't change any parts.
Springers .... love em or hate em, always an adventure to settle them down for easy shooting bliss. You'll get there no doubt about it.
