I just received an unexpected bonus from work. I would like to get a scope for my xs46u, but I need to stay well under $100.00. Any suggestions?

Check out the Hammers 3-9xAO with mil-dots. I use one on my R-9 and it performs without any problem, nice and clear glass and a fine reticle. Around $60 if you shop around. RC

Personally I like my Hawke Sport 3-9 X 40. It's under $80 which gives you some latitude for rings.

I've read a lot of good reviews on the Hawke Sport HD 3-9x40.

They seem to have a good warranty too. I see them go for around $80-90 depending on the reticle.

What fpe is your rifle shooting at y D460 killed one of those in about 150 shots It may not be a magnum rared scope

i have 2 and will be ordering another soon. great scopes, forget how much they cost. very reliable, nothing fancy.

not sure how much recoil your rifle has but Mike will know if that scope will handle it.

I'd personally go the Centerpoint route. Until you learn your rifle and how hard it is on scopes. You can get one at your local Wmart and be able to return it cheaply. Lotsa folks use them and they are good scopes for the price. Mounting any scope, so that is totally stationary, and closest to "Optical Center",,, is the key to the scope surviving for a long time. Hi Mag scopes, over 12x, also don't always last well with magnum springers,,,unless they are tuned and tamed, and the scope is dead centered

Here is the Leapers latest Model of a 3-9x, that I used on my first Diana 48. It still hunts very well after 6 years on that rifle. I think these are a better choice than the Centerpoint scope, if you're interested

The Parallax setting on the new one, is already 35yds, (I had to adjust mine), so it's a great deal for the air rifle. Also, the new 9 dot reticle is a half mildot system, that's more precise than the 4 dot system that the older ones had.
The scoperings that they include are very tough. Don't go after Hi-Magnification, unless you wanna spend much more money and go for a larger 30mm tube. Those rifles can be real hard on scopes. Justa tip.

Just picked up my second Center Point Adventure class 4-16x40 at Walmart. They are getting scarce so shop around.

I've had bad luck with the Hammers 3-9x. Mine had VERY stiff adjustments at first, and after a few thousand shots the clicks aren't accurate, ie what should move POI 1" left at 50 yards instead moves it either 1/2", or two inches, AND will throw random elevation changes in to boot.

my xs25 has killed 3 hammers scopes, made short work of it , too.
i have a hawk2-7x32 on the hw95 that seems to be holding up very well and is much nicer to look thru as well.

I think folks should look at the air rifle that they are using, before selecting the Hammers Scopes. I have had one since 2005...that's a great little liteweight all arounder! It's the 3-9x Compact. I brag on it alot. BUT>>>I also inform folks that It's mounted on a good shooting 12fpe fixed barrel springer... a .177 CFX.

My new Rex scope came in yesterday. Only enough daylight after work to get it mounted nice and snug and a real quick zero job. First impressions are real good! Nice clear image and seems solid. Give me a week to play and I will give a good update.
