Very nice shooting Ed and you must admit that your R9 is not your average out of the box springer. In fact when I joined the GTA you were one of the "Springer" guys who gave me helpful advice to improve my Gamo Whisper. and set me on the road to seeking the best results possible for every springer I now own. Next is a question about the RX2 .20 , does anyone of the serious competitors use one in HFT matches?

I've never been to a FT match where the RX was used but that doesn't mean it hasn't happened.By the way, I'm currently messing with a new sub $100 .177 Remington Express rifle (complete with it's trashy scope and mounts) in an attempt to get it shooting within about 1" ctc groups at 50 yards. I figure that if the Remmy can be made to shoot accurately with some tweaking at about $100, add a $70 4-16x40 Center Point scope and $10 UTG 11mm to Weaver mount (the CP scope comes with Weaver style mounts) youd have a complete hunter class setup for about $200. That would leave about $100 for "tuning services" and the resulting cost would still be $150 LESS than a bare Beeman R9! LOL....the "fly in the ointment" would be if the Chinese hybrid HW95/Diana 34 couldn't be made to shoot accurately enough!

Right now With a slight decrease in spring HPA pressure I am right at ~20 fpe with 11.34 Beeman pellets at 905 FPS so if I get to around 890 FPS it will be just under the 20 FPE and the accuracy has me impressed already
Those are all fair points brother Yrok ( even if significantly embellished )But the bottom line is, and that's a fact, ....a springer or a pumper, any springer or pumper will never, ever even get close to a PCP for power and accuracy,....Fact !
Have at it! There are several good FT clubs in the north east and I'm sure that you'll have a great day shooting at metal critters and rubbing shoulders with the great folk that populate the FT lanes!NY clubs..........http://rochesterbrooks.org/field-target/Perhaps other FT shooters can add some more north east venues!
Manny!!!You are no longer allowed to post on this forum when the temps in the North East are below 10*!!!It's just waaaayyy too painful bro!!!15* below and 40 mph winds here......have a heart!!!Thank you for understanding and posting privileges will be restored sometime in May.
@bmb:One thing has been bugging me since you started this thread:You say that because your Multi Stroke Pneumatic AirRifle is easier to shoot accurately than your Springer, you are considering a PCP.If you are liking the way an MSP shoots, why not get a more powerful, and accurate MSP? Something like a Crosman 1400, or Crosman 101, or other equaly powerful and accurate pumper?Ok PCP's share the lack of hold sencitivity, though still going from something where the power originates from you (springer) to something quite different, because you like a third thing that the power comes from you. I am a bit confused on this one.

I am a bit confused on this one.David,Its funny you should say that. I was just looking at a .22 Sheridan on line. Mainly because that's all I know as far as MSP's. I'm pretty sure I'm going to hold off on PCP until I outgrow the limitations of what I have.I just read your post so I haven't been able to check out the guns you suggested yet. I would love to find an affordable MSP with a good trigger and accuracy. By affordable I mean less than a disco. I would like a .22 at some point, preferably next. Good power would be a plus but not a priority. Do you have any other suggestions for me to check out? Thanks for the input. Once again the GTA and it's members have been a great support.
Add the .20 Sheridan's to the list. Not to costly and build like old Tanks.
