Just before Christmas I bought a Dianna 34 .177 with a 4-12x50 scope. I love it. If I really concentrate, I can get awesome groups. I have been shooting groups of five with six different pellets. I usually do that twice each time I shoot. 60 shots. Its easy to tell which pellets are best. I'm not the best shot yet and usually have at least one minor flyer per 5 shots.
Tonight I decided to pull out the ol Sheridan model c .20. First shot I thought I had the safety on. Nope, the rws trigger just has me spoiled. So I stared down the old foggy scope and gave it a good squeeze. Dead center. Next four, same jagged hole. Next target, another 5 shot jagged hole.
That made me wonder if you PCP guys are really on to something. It makes me think the .22 that is missing from my collection should be a disco. Also that I should put a better scope on the Sheridan and look at a trigger job.

You won't be disappointed with a pcp, sweet shooters. They will spoil you in a hurry.

If I had it to do over, I would have gone PCP from the start. But I had to learn my lesson the hard way. I tried CO2, which is all right in a 2240 or my replica BB pistols, but is a pain in rifles, and then there are the temperature limitations. I tried high end springers, I tried gas piston, and I tried pumpers. I was never really satisfied. But because of my financial status of very little income, and waiting on disability to be approved, I thought PCP was never going to be within reach. Thankfully I was approved, and with a nice retro check on the way and decent monthly payments coming in, PCP is on the table! I am waiting on the money right now, but I have a deal all ready set to get an awesome .25 Condor from a friend who has customized it inside and out. I can't wait to share photos of it once I get it!

Mo maybes about it. You need a PCP. (And I haven't even touched the Condor yet!) I know a good thing when I see it.

The PCP rifles are amazingly accurate but the springers keep you humble so as one who own both I will not go exclusively one way or the other I enjoy both

Bradley, by coincidence, I pulled out my early 80s vintage Blue Streak, yesterday, for something different to shoot after working with my springers for the last week. My experience was much like yours. After shooting my HW30S with its wonderful trigger for a week, I about gagged on the Sheridan trigger, enough so that I decided to do something about it.

I pulled the action and after rummaging in my parts drawer, found a lighter spring than the factory trigger spring. Popped out one pin, replaced the trigger spring and was good to go. Trigger still has plenty of play - I'll work on that, later - but the pull is now down to a very comfy two pounds or so.

Most of my shooting in our basement range is from a standing position. Even with my old Sheridan using an old tin of Benjamin pellets, I can consistently shoot better scores than with my HW30S and the Dan is much less fussy about hold to boot.

I'll be a springer fan till the day I die, but love my pump ups and PCPs, too, and that includes the Disco. Ours is in 22 and is superbly accurate, even more so than our Sheridans.

I have nothing against the Disco personally, but id rather go for a budget model like a Marauder or Hatsan at44 qe, they offer so many features at such a good price.

Look for deals on a chrony its a must have if you want to know what your PCP is doing from shot to shot. JMO

I've owned 5 springers, two were cheap Walmart specials, two were home tuned by me, and one was fully tuned by Mike Melick. While the tuned ones were better than the untuned ones, nothing compares to a PCP. My Disco shoots the same groups (1/2" at 25-30 yards) that I struggled to get at 10 yards with a springer.

If Palone comes in here and tells you there is no reason to own a "puffer", don't listen to him. The springer Gods have blessed his hands and sent him to lead others (who do not have the same magic touch) down the long, painful road of springers!

*Raises my hand* Been down that long, painful road. Never again. Springers aren't for me. (I do own 2, a QB58 and a B5. As soon as their values go up, they will be up for sale.) I'm going down the PCP highway and I'm never looking back again.

After getting a pcp (Disco), I'll never buy another temperamental springer again. The two springers purchased were kept for less than a year and sold at a loss. I should have gone to the darkside from the start.
