Well had a somewhat successful fill today. I filled to 500psi yesterday and had a leak on the poppet. Took the valve out this morning and relapped the seat. I tried to charge it again and only had 2000psi in my tank, so off to get tanks filled. I came back and hooked the tank back up but my regulator for some reason is only putting out 2650psi. Now I have to wait until my mold gets here in another 2 weeks before I test fire it, so it can set and see if it leaks until then. Since I was already outside I took some more pics of it with my HD camera. Guess I can start designing and building the stock while I wait.

Sixshooter, it really looks good so far. I had been kicking around the idea of a barrel nut to hold the barrel in and a taper on the barrel that fit into a matching taper in the action. I was thinking with a Morse taper of sorts. I saw it on a long range multi caliber rifle once at the gun show. Is that what you did or is it a very nice slip fit? Great work, I am looking forward to the progress.

It's just a slip fit. I tried to utilize a flat and tang for orientation but it didn't work out to good so I just drilled and tapped 3x 8-32 set screws to safely align and secure the barrel. The barrel nut now is just more of a cover than anything else.

Pretty darn good for your first attempt, from what I can see.... I notice you had a bit of weight variation, maybe try squeezing the handles together a bit tighter / more consistently.... that should reduce the variation in weight and diameter to a minimum.... Did you lube the mold pins?.... They may be sticking and/or not broken in.... Veral's pins are notoriously tight and have to wear in before the mold closes properly....

I think it's mostly getting a good fill out. Some of the bands are nice and crisp while others are not.

I'm well pleased with the first set of strings out of this build. Got some things that I noticed that need to be worked on but other than that a good first outing. These were 10 shot strings except the 79 I had a user error. Forgot to retract the bolt on the 3rd shot. Roughly 1000psi drop per string. 2800-1800.
