Do you use pellgun oil with this CO2 pistol? The CP1M manual makes no mention of using that oil when inserting a CO2 cartridge.

I have. Just a drop or two on the seal of the co2 before inserting. Not something I do every time.

I have no interest in a multishot pistol, is anyone offering the original CP1 single shot pistol in the US? I don't want to pay the extra money for the multishot one.

The multi shot version comes with the single shot tray.

The single shot CP1 costs less than $100, why pay the extra $$$ for something I don't want?  I will just be happy with my Crosman 1740, I might even put a Lothar Walther barrel on it and forget about the CP1 all together.

I've had mine a bit over a month. External fit and finish is quite good; internal I'm not so sure yet. The trigger is really nice: crisp and light enough to really emphasise how poor the Crosman 2300's (my only bolt action comparison) stamped POS is.

Minor gripes: it seems that loctite didn't get applied to the bolt handle (no big deal) or the valve retaining screw (moderate deal.) The grip is way oversize for me and needs some serious attention with rasps and such. Fifty shots from a powerlet is about it. The bolt bounces out of battery when fired;I haven't done a tissue test yet to see if it's getting blown out or if it's just recoil.

Major gripe: this shoots rings around my Crosman 2300 custom shop, literally. My Crosman stacks pellets reliably at 20 feet; the CP1M has trouble getting 2" groups. I suspect it's due to the unfinished leade and really finicky pellet loading regardless of shape or type of hold; haven't put it in a vice get but none of my rest techniques seems to have any effect on poi. I'm hoping all it needs is polishing, but I'm putting that off until I get spare seals. I also haven't rechecked the valve screw since I had the grips off last time, so that may be contributing.

I'm hopeful but not yet convinced that this will come up to at least Crosman standard.
