Thanks Robin. Next time promise your wife you'll take her air gun shooting. I hear it's an exciting sport, that the ladies seem to take to after experiencing it.

I know all about far away gatherings. I was supposed to be in Massachusetts next month for one, but that whole trip has fallen through.

I am feeling better today. I have no idea why I am so fragile lately. It's not like I am scaring a century to death or anything. I should be good for a few more years yet, anyway. Maybe next week I can see my doctor and we can figure out what's up.

Dave, wifey and I actually had that conversation today while walking in the park.

Don't know if you remember, but we had a bad motorcycle wreck a year and a half ago, then last year this time she had fusion surgery of c5/6 as a result of the mtc accident. Then in January she gets rear ended by some idiot who was texting and driving 100mph.

She has back and neck problems and just can't hold a gun (or her camera) for long periods of time. Combined with she doesn't really love guns to begin with it's hard to get her excited about coming out to the field with a bunch of boys and shooting.

Maybe she'll like the pistol I'm currently on the 'hunt' for, but tipping her head over for a rifle scope, not so much.

YIKES! Sounds like your lady hasn't been eating her Lucky Charms for a while! I can sympathize with not being able to hold a rifle. I tore my rotator cuff last September, and had just about gotten back to where I could shoulder a rifle when I tore my bicep. Since then I have also torn a hamstring. As much as I like shooting standing, I find I really enjoy seated bench rest. I understand about never really liking guns, too, but after a little time of getting into it, the thrill of accomplishment grows on a lot of people. She may actually surprise herself, but I can see that the all male environment would be a real factor, too. Oh well, enjoy your trip and maybe we'll see you in September.

i've been body slammed more times than I can count...mostly due to bikes....at.one time training for me was holding a full coke can at arms length with an eventual goal of 30 seconds at a time...i get around quite well now...

what we have fun shoots is....... fun.....people and toys and talkin...

My wife was like yours when it came to guns, she is a teacher in a low socioeconomic area, she would watch me in the backyard shooting and eventually came out to get closer look then she sat down and tried shooting one of my Springers hit a bullseye on the first shot and was hooked as long as I stood there and cocked the gun for her. Once I put a muzzle on the BT65 she started shooting that regularly then she wanted to try a crossbow now she owns one of them. Just recently she has taken a liking to small .22 semiautomatic pistol at PSA she will soon own one....

All that started with just a little nudge from me...

PS: she wants her CWP now too....

Good, the 12th. I was thinking the 22nd was the next shoot. Too long. Got a new blue 634 and a C.P. scope for it. Got to get it out back and see if it needs a droop mount and check muzzle velocity. I was thinking the CZ scope grooves were wider but 11mm mounts fit easy. See you guys on the 12th.

IDK if the ATV and mower will fit in the trailer, but if they do, we could spray for ants too. I've got a 25gal sprayer on the ATV.

If you can bring the sprayer I can get some chemicals the problem is water....

Not really a problem. The trailer holds 80-90gal and I can prefill the sprayer. One load should be plenty if you get strong stuff. Last time I did my place I got some thick milky looking stuff. Worked great. Don't know if that's the same stuff you are getting.

I'll be out in the shop in a little, will get some measurements from ATV & Mower.

64,000 sqft = 1.5 acres. I seem to have put it on very thin as I did my 4 acres twice (2 tanks per, 4 tanks total) with 1 bottle. Mixed it according to the directions... Pretty effective I guess.

I guess we need a LOT more water if we follow the instructions. 1 tank would surely cover the whole place.

Then again, you've got the turbo mutant ants down at your place.

Maybe see if one of the neighbors would let us fill the ATV w/ water from their place. Killing ants is good for everyone.

I am not going to make rash promises about being there on the 11th. I think I have learned my lesson there, but I am really going to try! Just curious, Al... how many RSVP's do you have for October? If you get many that want to camp, and space turns out to be a problem, Santee State Park is pretty close, will still be open, and pretty much in off-season mode. Should have plenty of sites available... That could help out those who want to save money by camping.
