Ruger Super Point .22 cal 17grain 200 count tin $5.99 in store at Wally World

Went to the local Wally World today and saw several surprises:

Benjamin .22 cal Sampler Pack normally $7.99 now $5.00
Crosman TR77 (Spring Version) $64.00

New Ruger branded (from Umarex) pellets in both .177 and in .22. Picked up a tin of the .22 Superpoint (200 for $5.99) and brought them home to evaluate. I noticed a LOT of lead shavings in the tin after dumping onto a paper towel. The skirts are thin and a bit rough, but only three pellets out of the tin were bent and had to be thrown away. The scale shows pretty consistent 17.0 grain weight. They are the typical pointed shape, similar to a RWS Superpoint. I haven't tried shooting them yet because of the rain, but the price is not bad for a 17 grain pellet if they will perform in your air rifle.

All of what I posted was in a local store, so not sure if these prices are available everywhere? I also noticed that this Wally also had the 10.5 grain .177 pellets that they never used to carry...

Well it is raining again and with nothing else to do I visited two more Wally World stores in my area (they are on every corner it seems like) and the two others I visited did not have the same pellets or specials as the first store, so I suppose it is a local thing, at least for now...

I grabbed some of these also but haven't had a chance to use them.  I had to send both od my 22 cal rifles ffor warranty repair and will not have access for awhile.

Noone that I know of makes 17gr pellets (like Crosman, RWS, H&N or JSB), so these Ruger pellets are something new on the market.  It looks like there is some Italian (or Spanish?) on the package, so they could be from a manufacturer in Europe trying to expand to the US market.

Can someone please write a review in the Pellet Review gate when you shoot these?

I was not thrilled with the results in my BT65 either, but being fair, maybe the BT is too much gun for these. I want to try them in a break barrel to see if they do any better. I have been thinking about putting the .22 barrel back on my Octane this weekend and will give them a try if I do.

Hi guys  how did you come up with 17gr in the pic the grain weight is unreadable on my screens and it looks like  .41 or .43 grams for the weight in grams

Did anyone weigh one?

.41-.43-.47 grams is about 6.3-6.9 grains which goes with an alloy pellet in .22   can anyone take a readable pic of the package and pellet?

They are calling them   Max velocity which would go with that weight...

oops I just noticed you weighed them are you sure it is 17 grains not 7? I do not mean to be doubting but why would they call a 17gr pellet max velocity not max impact...

Hi KO, the weight on the top of the tin says 1.1 g (gram). I did weigh them and they are pretty consistent at 17 grains. (in .22 cal)

I bought a tin of the .177s, and they seem to made from a different alloy and are a different color the the RWS pellets. The hollow point design is also different.  The tin says they are made in china, and I thought super H points were German made.  I have yet to try them out.

Hello, does anyone else have trouble ordering Pellets? I have tried to order some with the ship to store option and some might get the OK but most will say can't ship then something about carrier not allowed. The next day I might be able to get them. Here in Mi. you need to be 18 for pellets but I sending them to the store so they can check. I order my CO2's 40 pack online and save $3.00 from store price. They are taking them off the shelf. Because about 1/2 hour I get a Email saying ready for pickup you have to be 18 to get them also. I just want to get some different kinds of pellets to try. All our store carry is CHP in both .177 and .22

Finally got a chance to shoot these through my Sumatra.  They didn't do well at all.  No consistent groups at 25 yards.  I tried at different power levels and still didn't shoot good.  Hopefully, they will perform in my Hatsan PCP or I wasted money, I bought 6 tins since every pellet I have tried shot well in the Sumatra.
