well they got here and I am bummedMY .22 pumpers love them all the way out to 30 yards I am zeroed at 20 yards with CPHP 14.3s and I did not have to re zero!So I pop the ruger pointed in and go with 12 pumps for 20 yards and hit the top of the quarter size bull next shot is the same hole and shot three is touching the bottom of that hole. 25 yards and 14 pumps two touching and one ~ .125 to their left.30 yards 16 pumps and hit center bull first shot and called it goodthat was with the 14.5" barreled 1322. The 1322MLT loved them also out to the limits of my 30 yard range I did not do quite as well at 20 & 25 yards but got a 30 yard cloverleaf the 1322XLT likes them also but as it is still open sights my 30 yard group grew to over .75 my eyes just have gotten old...so yeah for some reason they shoot well thru my pumpersso why am I bummed well they are out of stock already and the one tin they had at the local Wally was marked over $8 as were the .22 Crosman hollows...so I only have the two tins of 200 of them... oh they look like they could be the biggest brother in the family with the Winchester pointed, which I think look the Daisy pointed.I have not tried the .177 hollow point but I am not hopeful they look to have a tilted/uneven raised hollow ring and just are poorly made I will be surprised to get better than .75 groups at 20 yards from the look of them...
Noone that I know of makes 17gr pellets (like Crosman, RWS, H&N or JSB), so these Ruger pellets are something new on the market. It looks like there is some Italian (or Spanish?) on the package, so they could be from a manufacturer in Europe trying to expand to the US market. Can someone please write a review in the Pellet Review gate when you shoot these? Thanks,Harry
The only thing I can say good about the Ruger Superpoint .22 is that they do exit the barrel. Whew! Thank goodness. After that, it anyone's guess what they will do. "Groups," as I know them, are nonexistent with this pellet. I have half a tin that may never get shot, and another still in the blister packaging that my brother bought for me. I don't have the heart to tell him they're not something my guns, like at all. It like they have a mind of their own once they leave the barrel.
I feel an obligation to post a personal belief that I have. It pertains to not only air rifles, but to many objects we frequently put in our hands. This has also proven itself true more often than not...."You perform at a higher level of accomplishment with items you have a personal confidence in." You don't need to be a deep thinker to figure that one out. I have caught some of my biggest fish (and most fish) on lures that my friends turn their noses up to, because I fish them differently than any other baits on the box. I have confidence in them, so I treat them differently. I Shoot my brother's AR-10 better than he does, because I happen to believe in that gun as a fine instrument, and shoot it differently than he does. All that noise being said, I know people who put down better groups in the same gun I own, with pellets I can't seem to get a handle on. I really believe it's because they believe those pellets will outperform any other pellet in their inventory. YMMVI digress...
