Pcp pumpers...

So those of you out there with more than one pcp gun, how many pumps do you own (assuming you don't fill with a tank)? Now that I have my disco and it has a foster fitting I have to switch the fill probes on my FX pump if I want to pump up my BSA, which is a pain to do.

It would be easier to own 2 pumps...one for the disco and one for the BSA. Of course, it would be easiest to own a tank but even then I'd have to switch out fittings/probes depending on which gun I was filling.

How do you guys get around this inconvenience?

Simple buy an adapter for the fill plug that usually screws on and you won't have that problem. I have had an AA and a Mrod at the same time, one pump.. just bought an adapter for the AA's fill probe.

At one point I had 8 Pumps (but I had alot of rifles than )

Now I have 3 Hills, I never pump more than 25 strokes at a time and rotate the pumps, they never get hot so I never really have to take a break to let them cool down

Kind of defeats the intent of the fill probe, but most of us just adapt probes to a foster.

But in answer to part of your question, even though one pump fits onto all the PCP’s, I do tend to two pumps.  For years it was an FX and a Hill, but eventually ended up with two Hill pumps.  Just easier to keep spare parts supplied for one type.

I had a Benjamin at first, then I noticed something was not right. I bought a Hill pump. I cleaned the shaft of my Benjamin and greased it and it is fine. I use them both. The Hill is harder to pump, but a better pump. The Benjamin is a good pump for back up. I also have a ninja tank.

And I have a Benji Pump that I boost to double the efficiency so I don't have to pump more than 30 to fill my Mrods. Why is everyone in here so quick to modify their gun to improve efficiency and never even think about modding the pump for that same purpose? Well....DUH!

Boost = inject 25psi from compressor.

Probably little or no harm in that, and if a boosted pump makes your shooting better, then go for it.
I'm not in that big a hurry.

I don't find it to be appreciably any harder to pump. Keep in mind that one atmosphere of pressure is 14.7psi at sea level. 25psi is slightly less than twice the pressure. The difference comes on the up or down stroke where the resistance begins. With boost that point will start earlier in the stroke as you carry twice the air from one stage into the next. The real difference is that you only have to do it, half as many times.
