OK... I have had it!!

I have been busy busy...long hours and many days away. Now we have had our vacation and the major jobs done. The rats have had it easy...NOT ANY MORE!!

Today I opened the shooting lanes and laid the bait. Tonight I got out the guns!!  Gonna use the VS for a while hoping momma can shoot it. I already see a issue.. I mounted a 6x18 scope and shots are about 15-20 FEET...VERY small FOV. Not bad for me, but momma needs things... well perfect.

Its sited dead on and we where shooting plastic tacks on/off a 2x4 every shot.

I filled the water, piled up the peanut butter and sunflower seeds and installed new batteries and light bulbs!

OK, here's mine.  I have all kinds of acrylic, so I made a box with a hinged lid.  The squirrels figure out the lid in about five seconds, while it confounds the birds--even the blue jays.

Sorry about the picture quality.  I took it with an IPad Air, and used some app to resize the image. Not like Windows and Pix Wizard...

Re-arranged my bait station and found out rats like Milkbones. Go figure. First attempt I set the bone on top of the old cast iron pot and the rat did a 100mph fly by and snatched the whole bone and took it with him. hey!?
Sooo, I wedged it beneath the pot and he had to slow down. Bad mistake........

Just the thread for me!  Thanks for starting it.  I am just getting ready to set up a bait station myself.

Right now I just get some big nails and drive them into trees at a 45 degree angle about half way.  Then I stick some field corn whole ears on them.  I think I can improve that with this information and these pictures.

Here's my minimalist setup.  Has worked well for the larger critters but I'm going to need something different for the rats.

My biggest problem with rats is my light, is there any tricks out there not to scare em off?

Any light you leave on at night will be one they get used to and eventually ignore.  LEDs are nice for that purpose.

I would come "visit" you if I lived closer.     How ever My Mom likes to cook and has taught all six of my sisters to cook so I eat pretty good.

  Just remember  that unless the cats are neutered they will out breed their food supply and then they will start to compete with the coyotes for the chicken dinner
