Day1. Bacon at the bait station. Stayed up til 1am nothing. Next morning wife throws daggers at me saying the "dang" ding donger went off and she couldnt sleep.

Day2. Frozen sausage from the freezer. Stayed up til midnight and my body had to reboot. Next day, same thing... got yelled at cause  the ding donger made her wake up.

Day3. tonight..... I will try again with more bacon.

Here is the bait station and where i shoot.

I haven't gotten any rats since my "6 in 48 hours" streak last October. Including a triple play (3 in one night) but I'm still the Grand Poobah!

It's been slow. The rats have too much other things to eat.
Oranges, Lemons, Figs and Passion fruits.

This is a great idea! I never knew Ding Dongs were so useful. Mine is coming out of the drive this evening.
I have a good place for the bait station. 30 yards measured from the back fence to the garage door. Now I need to make a permanient rifle rest on the door frame. I would love to be able to rig it with a light.

Ramble, if getting power to the bait station is an issue, do what I did and get a red LED flashlight.  With rechargeable lithium cells, the ongoing cost is insignificant.  Mine is a multi-mode that I set on low and it will run all night on a single 16340 cell.

Pictures of my setup are back on page 2 or 3 but what I did was set it up at the edge of the woods and hung the flashlight from an old copper-coated coathanger zip-tied to a limb.  The critters don't seem to notice the light, and with it being at the edge of the woods, I suspect they are more relaxed than if it were out in the open.

my apples are dropping to the ground from the tree seen some rats move on over, but at the same time around 2am, I was in competition with the neighbor hood Owl   No worries he's has to eat So I let him have the night. I'm going to bait up tonight.

I learned the hard way years ago not to bait.  Here (so Cal), it can bring roof rats, and man are they hard to eradicate from your attic.  thought I had our house sealed up, but they found a hole about the size of a dime to enter.  Gray, waxy trails leading to the hole was a dead giveaway.

Hey Guys! Yesterday I had a possum after my corn I set out for squirrels. So I loaded up my dad's crosman 766 with a 7.4 pointed pellet and got with in ten yards of him. The first shot was between his ear and eye and that  stopped him in his tracks. then I shot him in the back of the head and he did a very bloody death dance. Sorry there is no pics.
