This is awesome and several are plain hilarious.  Yes I know acros are time savers and fun to use.  I may use a few on occasion, but I really like to practice Elon Musk's approach on the over-use of acros:

I work in a government job, and anyone in the military knows, the casual use of acros is ridiculously excessive.  This is not the government, but we do have new members who come to the forums to learn. 
I strive to be clear in communication so the information is conveyed, FWIW.

When writing, if you wish to use acronyms (acros), spell out the word first, followed by the acro in brackets, so the reader can have a context.

FWIW, the use of a HDD with a SSG is completely unnecessary IMHO, but YMMV.

This thread has been running for over three years.

A little history:  When I joined thisGTA  Forum (my OAO "Forum"), I was baffled by some of those shortcut words members were using.  So I started my own private list that I could refer to as needed.  Eventually I published it.  And it continues to grow!

The word in red (below) comes to us from my sister in Georgia.  I am including it here instead of in the list because it actually has nothing to do with air guns or this Forum.  But since it starts with the word "air", I thought you might find it interesting anyway.  Maybe some on GTA will use "airbnb" this Thanksgiving week to get extra cash to invest in more air guns and/or ammo.  [size=78%][/size]airbnb[size=78%]  It is a sort of informal Bed and Breakfast accommodation.  People all over the world are renting a room or their whole house at fairly low rates.  It is a very popular way to travel with the Millennials.[/font]

Thanks Sparky.  I had missed “POA”.  I too had a difficult time when I first became a member with all the shortened words and phrases.  Hence the list.

There are a couple of additions to the list - thanks to Dave (ezman604) and Joe Brancato of “AirTanksForSale”.
Also, I would like to say a special thanks to Dave for taking the time to do the EDIT part.  You may recall that recently, the “Modify” menu item was removed.  Just a small thing but a little help is now required to edit a thread after it has been posted for 30 minutes or more.  Good job guys.

Tom, that MODIFY button I put in does not work.  Go figure!

The “Modify” feature has been reinstalled; and that means I don’t have to bother the moderators to revise the list.
