I knew it was your chrony setup.... You have to have a lighting kit for your chrony if you shoot indoors, and the lights inside your house on the ceiling do not count. Your outdoor numbers are way more consistent ....open your valve back open to about 4 atleast... and put your stroke on full stroke (max)

and your preload tension around 5 and you will be good...

Just for you... I will put together my chrony and take a pic so you can see my homemade lighting setup..that never ever gives errors, or incorrect readings

I used lights from an old china cabinet that was not getting use, bought 40w frosted incandescent light and used paper clips to attach to my diffusers

Then I bent a piece of hanger and put it between the lights to keep everything under tension and not flimsy

I would set the stroke on max as well (full CCW).... and I would back out the valve one more turn CCW.... but regardless of what others have had to use for preload (they may have a spring that is weaker), you have a bit too much preload to get a proper bell-curve.... You want the first shot to be about 20-30 fps below the peak....

Thank you guys for trying to help me I really appreciate it.. When i was indoor chrony testing I did get some sketcy readings one was 138 some were like 965 so I guess i will do my testing out side from now on.. i will let you know what happens with the settings you suggested.

I think I am done with my Marauder I have tried everything cant get it to where i like it to be. I think i am going to return it To PA and go for the Rainstorm 2 or the Hatsan at 65. I done. I got today I have tried about every adjustment there is. I think I have a dud. 31.02 Baracudas #10 spring It is an airhog and down on power. settings were city sniper suggestions Stroke 1/4 preload 5 valve 4.5

My Condor blows this out of the water so easy endless power. This is a air hog.

So did you back off completely on preload and leave everything else the same? (don't change more than one variable at a time) What did the string look like? You have too much preload...

I don't know how you could consider getting 48 FPE from an MRod a "dud".... Any time you tune a gun so that the first shot is the fastest, you will automatically have an "air hog".... it goes hand in hand with an improperly tuned PCP....

Leave the stroke at maximum CCW, leave the velocity adjuster at 4.5 turns CCW, and decrease the preload until the first shot is about 3% below the peak.... Until you try that, you can't comment on whether the gun is good, bad, or indifferent, IMO....

An MRod isn't a Condor, they are as different as chalk and cheese.... If you think you're going to get a Condor shot string from a stock MRod, even with a hammer spring change, you are sorely mistaken....

I am still puzzled by how much air you are using. I starting to suspect a valve problem. Well if you trade back for a Rainstorm II it should be well set out of the box. Manny seems to love them. BTW - how loud is the condor compared to the MROD?

that looks pretty good. You found the balance point with your hammer force and this string is a pretty good string with almost all shots within 4% of max speed. I'd move stroke about 1 to 2 turns in and test; you'll lose a little energy, but you'll broaden your shot string and move the peak to the right.
