Got out and did some bench shooting today. Shot for about an hour thinking hold sensitivity was causing really bad groups. I mean I couldn't keep my shots on a 3" Shoot-N-C target at @ 30 yards with CPHP's. Then I switched to RWS Meisterhugeln and no better. Grabbed the H&N Field Target Trophy's and it was like magic how the groups tightened up to about the size of a quarter. Not sure of the distance since I was shooting a small informal range that a gunsmith has set up beside his shop, but it was every bit of 30 yards.
Now that's what we are talking about excellent. maybe , share that in a separate post so others see that, other wise it could be lost in the shuffle of the post.just a thought

LOL, Just when I thought I was getting good at judging distance. I talked with the range owner again today and the range I was shooting is 50 yards!! Once I seen these pellets where grouping I switched to a new target and took 3 shots sighting them in. Once it was sighted in I put at least 8 rounds in the center group before packing up. The center ring is 1 inch on these targets.

The ones who had nothing but bad things to say about hatsan, this is what we are talking about. a well built rifle, with power, with a excellent ( mind you not good, I said excellent trigger, and a good price point and.. kemosobie lol excellent accuracy...did i mention the sas design ? oh yes that too Ha! I can deal with some Minor issues all day, any day if I had to with a rifle giving me this
According to you, the trigger is "excellent". Yet, haven't you been stumping for replacing the trigger screws to fix them?

I can deal with some Minor issues all day, any day if I had to with a rifle giving me thisYou asked right? So, how does this alter the fact that the Hatsan 125's are showing a tendency to arrive with poorly finished metal and plastic?According to you, the trigger is "excellent". Yet, haven't you been stumping for replacing the trigger screws to fix them? What about the nicked seal and metal shavings Craymar found inside his?Trondyne as well as myself and others have noted what appears to be power far below what these guns are supposed to be capable of out of the box, more bad seals perhaps? I'll know for sure when I open mine up this weekend, and you can be sure I'll have more to naysay about if there is anything to honestly report. What about Tom Gaylords problems with the accuracy of the 177 cal and discovering an oversized bore? The point is, Hatsan is not perfect, and one good performing rifle does not make a consistent trend, same as one badly performing rifle doesn't make trend. There are many good reports of the power and accuracy living up to the claims. There are also many negative reports as well on everything from power and accuracy, to materials, to fit and finish.I don't think I have seen a single person say "nothing but bad things" about the Hatsans.I have though, seen a lot of honest appraisals and evaluations of the guns these people have recieved. I consider these to be worth their weight in gold, as the real picture, warts and all, is what helps people make a good buying decision and spurs manufacturers to improve their products. My 125 is very accurate so far, but that doesn't change the fact that the barrel pivot has loosened to the point of allowing it to flop around, the bluing is very poor at best, the plastic looks cheap and is poorly finished, and the power is not there.I paid for what Hatsan advertised, and they failed to deliver. Bottom line.
I agree with Mike on the trigger issue. A simple purchase of 2 adjustment screws can turn it into a match grade trigger, from what I've read.
Mike please calm down man, everyone has their opinion, watch the language please. I wouldn't want mods to get involved or anything. You know what i mean?
If there is one thing consistent about the Hatsan 125 and 135 I would say it is the power. The .25 cal. shoots 70 to 100 fps over the stated 750 fps with @ a 20 grain pellet. I was getting 960-970 fps with the .22 cal H&N Diabolo Sport 13.73 grains. I bet I would hit 1000 fps with the RWS hobby 11.9 Grain pellets. Everything else just seems to be the norm with Chinese, Turkish and Spanish air rifles.I hate to say it but, the metal shavings issue is another story. Will post pictures in the full review.
