Need Stock for 25 cal WFH, SAS Non Quattro, single screw forend

Went to shoot my WFH 25 cal today and see what kind of chrony reading I would get.
Got this back from Rane Air last year and only shot it twice right after it came back to make sure it was functioning. Seemed smoother. Put it on the shelf until today. On the first cocking the stock broke in half at the pistol grip. Can these be glued back together? Any one know of replacement stocks or even if a wood stock would fit. I'm disgusted only have about 100 rounds through this. Will try to post some pics later. Their on my desktop.

Sorry to hear that. I have heard the 4 screw stocks were prone to breakage but not there. Is it a 2 screw or 4 screw stock?

I have a "theory" on how to repair the stock.

Cut a section of hardwood dowel ( 3/4" -1" diameter )  longer than the break ( longer is better ). . . The dowel will serve as a "stress rod" in the repair . . . Use two-part Epoxy glue to encase the dowel inside the stock. You could also use All-Thread.

I appreciate the tip but it won't work on a hollow plastic stock. I did use that to fix an Evanix stock but it was wood and broke almost in the same place. Must be jinxed to have that happen twice to me. I don't think any glue is strong enough to fix this. Maybe I can fill it with Bondo?

I would still use some type of "reinforcing rod(s)" with whatever material you use.

You might call Umarex for a replacement stock: phone#479-646-4210 ext 7.   I hear their repair service isn't so good so its better to buy the stock and replace it yourself.   

You might check if there are any fiberglass boat builders in your area.  I'm thinking you might be able to fill the stock with epoxy mixed with fiberglass.  I'm not experienced enough though, but a good boat builder might have the know how.

Wow!   Sorry to hear about your mishap, I always thought those synthetic stocks were solid,  had no idea they were hollow.    I don't know where you would find a replacement unless you order it from the manufacturer.  Ive never seen one break that way.  Looks like it may have been defective, even though that area is a weak spot it shouldn't have snappedd in half that way.

Good idea . . . Throw in a couple sections of carbon fiber rod or tubing, or section from a STRONG fishing rod.

If I were to fix it, and this is saying just if it were me since I'm not a "pro", just a guy whose been pretty successful with making garbage in his garage like show winning cars and drag bikes that place fastest elapsed time in their class at the Winter Nationals against "pro" built equipment. (Feeling a bit punchy today, ignore it lol)

If it were me, I rough up the interior surface of the stock around and as far back as possible from the break with a fine wire wheel or sandpaper, then I'd glue the stock together with some simple crazy glue and let it set. Once set, I'd fill the stock with Polyester Casting Resin like they use when working on boat hulls. The stuff will not break or come loose once its got adhesion. I've used it to cast oddball shapes and create custom parts to replace plastic ones.

Honestly though, I would not expect any miracles. Probably best just to get a new stock.

Yeah I was thinking along the same lines, will try to find a replacement stock first.
If I repair it, I would always be wondering when it was going to let go again. I think it would add too much weight also.

That's a real shame. I had heard of the earlier ones cracking at the forestock bolts, but not at the grip!

Wait...just looked at the pictures. That is the SAS single bolt forestock. Strange!

Yeah, it is. He also said another wood stock broke almost the same way. It might be time to look at how you're cocking your guns. If you are placing most of the stress on the butt of the gun, you might be overstressing the thinnest part at the handgrip area. That's about all I can figure.

Just to clarify things, the stock broke as I just tapped the upper end of the barrel to get it ready to cock. It was a very light tap. The other stock that broke was a blizzard PCP gun.
It had a hairline break throught the same area. UPS picked it up to assess the damage and when I got it back as I was unpacking the gun the stock fell apart.
The WFH is a magnum AG that is meant to withstand stress. It requires a lot of cocking pressure. I know how to cock and airgun and am strong enough to follow through. This fell apart like a kids toy. I bought this from AirGuns Daily. It is very possible that UPS slammed the package and stressed the stock. They most likely caused the damage to the Evanix stock also. I'm just unlucky enough to get caught twice.

Bluzjamer and Paul,  that looks preaty thick there on the stock wall, man thats umarex all the way, that is a defective stock, I BET THEY SEND YOU A BRAND NEW 2 HOLE STOCK. Here i'll give you guys Anna's contact info. She is a great customer support person. Just email her the pics of the stock and a explanation of what happened and that IT  is all over the forums. I bet Umarex sends you a brand new stock asap. brent

Anna already helped me just after I got this WFH. It arrived with a broken rear sight, which she took care of right away. She is the best. I've sent some emails and will see what I get for responses before I call her. The rifle looked like new, very surprised this happened.
I have all kinds of powder burners that I've shot for many years. Never have I had problems until I got into air guns.

well if the  rear site was bad that's a sign isn't it, maybe it had the stress crack and you never saw it. no way that should fall apart like a toy, with out having some kind of stress crack prior  to falling apart so easily

 man that's hard to even look at , if they dont replace the stock i be reinforcing it with 3/8 all thread rod epoxy it in place then seal the two parts  with super something lol. then when cured fil the entire thing like the above member mention with that filler resin what ever it was, cant make it weigh more then the new 9 lb hatsans

I know that on the first generation of the WFH there was a huge batch of bad plastic stocks, Hatsan found the problem and changed the plastic formula in the stocks immediatly. When you called Umarex they would send you a stock for like $50 bucks if you rifle was over 1 year old. If it was under 1 year old it  ws no cost, this is when the 4 hole stocks were all cracking. Basic rule dont buy a WFH if it has a 4 hole stock, unless you want problems. 2 hole stocks are generaly ok.
