Diana 34 P coking issue after a Vortek install
«

Good afternoon
I installed a Vortek DIY in my Diana 34 P but after assembling it, I figure out it didnt cock anymore.
Do you guys have any idea what can I could have done wrong? I disassembled the gun again, but the only thing I could have done wrong is change the sequence of the pins holding the trigger device ( I didnt change anything in the trigger).
Also I found that the safety isnt working too (when I try to pull it to safe with the gun uncocked).
Here some photos of the original x Vortek system
Thank you for your help!

If it is a T-05 you may need to reset the trigger. Try cocking it while holding the trigger.

Actually what is happening is that the conking leveler stops at the middle of the travel...
Any ideas what could it be?

Hi Ivan
metallic spring guide? In the front of the old spring? I checked I could not find anything inside the piston... do you think maybe it was stuck in the front of the piston?? thank would interfere with the cocking leveler not going all the way to lock the system?
Thank you!

Yes, check really close; it may look like it is part of the piston. Use a flashlight to look inside. I had to use a mallet to break loose on my TX200.

I checked a diagram for Diana 34 and it does not look like there is a front piston guide.

Second thing I had to do was adjust the first stage trigger adjustment, but I would not recommend; unless you really know what you are doing.

Your OEM spring guide is the delrin one pictured with the crooked OEM spring,no? There is no OEM tophat(forward spring guide) or metal spring guide. Sounds like too much spacing. I'm sure one of the more knowlegable members will chime in so keep an eye on this thread.

usually what happens with the 34 kit is the cocking shoe or foot that's on the cocking arm the part that gos inside the piston as you cock the rifle it hits the black outer guide of the of the kit and some times you need to remove a little metal from area by polishing this part to allow enough clearance for the rifle to cock fully, but before you do that try rotating the whole new kit inside of the receiver and try it again to see if it'll cock if not contact Tom at vortek and ask him how to correct this problem just my2ct

Hi Mark and Cajun
Thanks for the msgs.
I will try rotate the kit as you mentioned Mark.
Cajun, the Vortek spring is the one with the deldrin, but the kit is supposed to be drop in.
But when i looked at the spring compared to the old one, i though it was too big.

I have had an issue with the 350 after breaking it down not latching when cocking and all I have to do is take the gun off safety and pull the trigger and it all resets. Just make sure that it is not cocked and under pressure. I am sure it will not be if you feell the spring pressure since it will not latch. That the way it is on the 350 TO5 TRIGGER ANWAY.

Hi Perez
Thanks for the answers however I live in Brazil, it would be simply too expensive send the gun, not to mention all the papers I would have to deal with regarding the shipment of the gun.

I have a T06 and his kit was a drop in that required no clearance on the cocking shoe. I just checked mine for burrs no thinning required. Being in another country you might have an older version of it. Next question did you use slave pins on the trigger group? If the answer is no something may have become misaligned doring the installation. Finally email Tom....if you have a stack up tolerance issue (spring spacing+top hat+ rear guide) preventing latching he will know what to measure and what to do to correct it

As my info goes, the TO6 updates only the "non-metal" issue that the previous unit brought about. The TO5 is good, and should not be disputed. However, a modernization was only to suppress the previous critique. I am not an expert, this info is hearsay.
The "sleeve" around the
new spring
is to me, suspect.
