I am in shock right now.  It almost looks too simple for the price -- but I know it's going to be amazing.

Such clean lines and when I shouldered it, very light weight (ever so slightly muzzle heavy).  The balance point on the gun is right where I put my hands naturally on the stock.

Soooo... do I need to bother with loctite on the scope mount screws?

Welcome to "Team FX"!!!  I didn't use any LocTite on any of the screws when I mounted my Hawke scope on my FX Royale.  After aprox six tins of pellets I checked the screws and all were still tight.   I used BKL rings.  Did you get the Smooth Twist barrel or the LW?  Hope you really like your Royale...

Congratulations Terry, I know the wait was a killer. As Stu said, welcome to Team FX! You are gonna love it. I'm really excited for you as it wasn't so long ago that I got my Indy. Have fun man and I hope you get a chance to shoot it outside tomorrow. Remember that we'll be expecting a detailed review as soon as you can pry yourself away from your new toy.

I can only compare it to poweder burners, the remington npss, and the mrod 25 cal, so please take what I write with a grain of salt.

Look and Feel
The stock is lightweight enough to shoot offhand without a problem.  It's really long (47"), but it doesn't feel like a gun that big.  Most of it is the shroud anyway and the balance is superb.  I can see how some people wouldn't like the synthetic stock because it looks less pretty than wood, but I personally like the black color.  There aren't a ton of fine details in the stock, which is great because there is less to get marred up while hunting.  It is beautiful in its simplicity and clean lines.

Cocking is ridiculously smooth feeling.  The trigger is crisp and responsive.  Recoil is minimal, and the sound.  

OH the SOUND.  

It is so quiet.  I read over and over about how quiet the gun is, but really, the gun is ridiculously quiet.  The LIGHT ping of the hammer along with a little hiss is all you hear, then the twack of the pellet hitting the target (which is pretty loud in the case of a 25 cal).  I daresay it's quieter than any of the npss's I used and DEFINITELY quieter than the 25 cal mrod.

My wife, who heard all of the guns shooting out the kitchen window and in the basement, agrees that the Royale is significantly quieter than any of the others.

Shot string
I need to get better lighting for the chronograph before I try a shot string again.  It varied from 900-970 fps at the muzzle, but I need to do a better job of securing the gun.  I was hitting lead over and over in the duct seal and seeing sparks, so I stopped at 34 shots.  I went from 220 bar to about 180-190 bar at a quick glance.  Don't trust my numbers really -- I need to do a serious test over the weekend at a range.

Accuracy
This is a tough one because right now I only have 8-9 yards to play with in my basement.  However, in that space, I was testing out some shots and I did a doubletake.  I could have sworn I shot the gun, but I didn't see the hole get any bigger or a new hole form.  I shot 3 times before I move the crosshairs over about a 1/4 inch and shot in disbelief.

It was literally the same stinkin hole.  I wasn't even trying to do anything special.  The pellet goes where you aim it every time without fail.


To say that I am ecstatic about this gun is not enough.  Part of me actually thinks it is unfair to take this hunting, but the rest of me will be cackling all the way to the woods.

side note... 1800 for the fx indy...... the pumping is very cool wish all other pumpers where like that.. 21 pumps for 7 full power shots..

Congrats on your new toy. Yes the accuracy will blow your mind. Just wait until you start putting pellets downrange. Absolutely awesome. Just don't do what I did. Make sure you clean your barrel first. I didn't do that and I would get the occasional flyer in each mag. After I cleaned it, no more problems. It will save you a little frustration thinking the gun isn't shooting the way it should. Enjoy!

Will a little goo gone on some patches be enough?  I don't want to do the wrong thing with this gun

That's exactly what I did. I just ran some patches through it with Goo Gone until they came clean. I have shot about 2 tins through it so far and the accuracy has not fallen off. I am not going to clean it again until either the accuracy falls off or I start getting flyers. I am currently only using the JSB pellets although I occasionally shoot some Predators.

 Beautiful gun. Congratulations! I'd love to get my hands on one of those exact guns. I've seen them before and I really want to get that very same gun. However, funds will not allow a gun of that price.

Mine has a sweet spot at just under 200 bar where it is the most accurate when shooting benchrest using JSB Exact Monster Diabolo.  What pellet were you using?
