Hey Guys,
Do any of you guys have experience with this rifle? I am trying to choose between this rifle and a Disco in .22. Is this rifle easy to hand pump? What kind of hand pump is required to fill this rifle? What kind of velocities does it have? Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You,
Michael Mobley

I've played with this rifle alot. A good friend of mine owns the Pneuma and has let me borrow it indefinitely. If you're making the choice between the two, I would go with the disco. The disco will be much easier to pump with a hand pump. I use the FX pump to pump the Pneuma and it can be difficult. I'm also having an issue (and have had this issue off and on with the gun) where it will only accept about 100-120 bar and I'm no longer able to continue putting air in the rifle. The air just won't seem to go in...I havn't been able to resolve the problem. I do know the gun shoots hard, in the mid 900's with JSB 15.9 gr. But with all the mods for the disco, you can get that thing to do whatever you want it to do. There's so much info on the disco and it seems like everyone owns a disco if they own a pcp. Plus the disco is cheaper and it's probably a better quality rifle overall. I don't own a disco, but have done alot of reading and have experience with the Pneuma.

The Pheuma is the Hatsan AT44, and is available as a repeater, the AT44-10.... The gun is significantly more powerful than a stock Disco, more in the Marauder class.... The one I shot (a .22 cal repeater) worked flawlessly and was reasonably accurate, actually better than my Disco, but my Disco had a bad barrel (shallow rifling).... The Pneuma is significantly heaver than a Disco, but a lot lighter than an MRod.... From what I hear, the Pneuma is probably a better gun than the .22 cal MRod as they seem to have their problems too.... The Pneuma is louder than a Disco, which makes it the loudest of the three.... The air reservoir is larger than a Disco, but not quite as big as an MRod.... Depending on pellet weight, you don't have to fill to a full 200 bar.... With 15.9 gr. pellets (@ 915 fps avg.) or 18.1 gr. pellets (@ 875 fps avg.) the gun I shot was best filled to 190 bar (2750 psi) and refilled at 115 bar (1650 psi).... It would shoot 3 clips (30 shots) within 7% of the peak velocity filled like that (stock)....
I think it pretty well comes down to the indivdual gun you happen to get, unfortunately.... most are good with the occasional one that needs some work....

All airguns have some bad apples in the "barrel". TBH, I bought the Pneuma as a low-priced substitute for the Marauder rifle, and because of the reputation of the Hatsan AT44-10 (the original name of the Hammerli Pneuma rifle). I've leaned a lot about PCPs from this rifle, but I see there's still more to learn. Do you like to tinker?
my personal saga (and lots of help from the guys here on the GTA)

Almost a happy ending. But things went wacky again.

So, I'd recommend you get the single-shot version if you get the Pneuma. I'd offer my 10-shot for sale, but not until I fix it (again).

Am a pump filler. While my Pneuma is a .177, that won't make any difference in filling. Would rate the Pneuma about 2 to 2 1/2 times harder to fill than the Discovery. The Discovery is easy, would rate the Pneuma as moderate. Just has more volume and higher fill pressure.
You do get something for the effort...a good deal more power per shot with the Pneuma.
Reading over the posts in this forum and several others, seems the repeater version has more owners with problems than the single shot version. Unless you really gotta have the repeater, stick with the single shot.
But of the two (and I do own both), the Discovery is the easiest to get filled and running right.

I'm just having bad luck with mine. It's been checked officially by UMAREX, but still couldn't group well unless I had a start fill of 145 bar. Uselss to continue with UMAREX, so I did the rsterne mod and plugged three holes on the air valve. That helped in that I could get now fill to 190 bar, and get 30 shots, but the accuracy is very poor compared to what others are posting. Yeah, it could be me, but it ain't. It's this rifle. So I have to say I'm neutral on it now. Still trying to sort it out.
