Snow in Huntsville Alabama

Looks like about 5" and it's slowed down but still going.

I'm glad they decided to close today and Saturday even though I'm bored. Last time I recall this much snow was 6" in 1977. I was younger then...

They made the call yesterday to close the schools here today.. it's 42 and rainy. The thing is, they have no snow removal equipment here, any possibility of freezing rain or snow and they roll up the sidewalks.

Yep, we got 1 of them. It's even got a right turn green light arrow.

It actually is a cookie cutter subdivision, but very spaced out. Only one home about 80yd through the woods and about a 50ft drop, behind us. Otherwise, it's all woods. Lots of privacy out back. My shooting range stretches out to 60yd.

Hey Dinh, we got it all here in NY. There are areas that the snow cat trail groomers can't get though. And speaking of small towns my wife grew up in one. 1 traffic light ,1 bank , 1 grocery store, 1 drug store but 3 bars and 3 churches    Oh yes the count seat also with a fair ground and dirt track racing on Saturdays

None of them modern inconveniences here in Sopchoppy!  We do have a sidewalk though and a Dollar General so it's almost civilization.

We are on the main route from Montgomery and points North to the Gulf shores so we get heavy traffic over the weekends but not many stop for more than just gas. They are actually working towards a bypass. The town is really fighting that. I wish they would put it in. That single traffic light really gets backed up at times. I just plan my travels around those times. I do know the back dirt road bypasses if it's a must. I just have to make it across the line of traffic to get to them.

Now that we may end up empty nest soon I'd do that in a heartbeat, but better half is entrenched...

I envy the extra room outdoors, but I reckon all my extra is gonna stay indoors.

    I moved 10 times during my carrier managing large stores to five different states.  We bought 6 different homes after starting out in a mobile home.  Each time selling for a profit over the years.  That finally allowed us, after I retired, to buy in an older subdivision in the county with each home having 2-1/2 acres minimum.  We have almost 3 located at the back by a creek.  The last two homes my wife said we are going to buy based on the wooded back yard.   I can shoot air guns here as other homes are up the ridge quite a way up.  Acres and acres of woods back there.  I still like a TKO on the loud ones because everything is so quiet here.
