I lived in North Georgia and western North Carolina for a while.  Mom lived on Lake Appalachia for 20 years.  We got used to snow.  We all drove four wheel drives and carried a chainsaw in the winter.  Mom bought her first Land Rover in 2002 and we all considered it an extravagance until the first snow fall.  Then we really got to appreciate that vehicle.

It is, 99% of the time! Neighbors are all friendly, yet keep to themselves for the most part. Perfect!
I am very thankful and feel very fortunate to have what I have.

Very nice but way too big for Betty Lou and I to keep up with. I would be surprised if our place is 900 sq ft including the screen room/bar.

It is comfortable for a family of 5.

    I moved 10 times during my carrier managing large stores to five different states.  We bought 6 different homes after starting out in a mobile home.  Each time selling for a profit over the years.  That finally allowed us, after I retired, to buy in an older subdivision in the county with each home having 2-1/2 acres minimum.  We have almost 3 located at the back by a creek.  The last two homes my wife said we are going to buy based on the wooded back yard.   I can shoot air guns here as other homes are up the ridge quite a way up.  Acres and acres of woods back there.  I still like a TKO on the loud ones because everything is so quiet here. 

Van, please tell me you have ATV trails through those woods. 

  We do have a gravel walking trail around our back couple of acres Bill. The last owners built it but no ATV trails in those woods, just deer trails down to the creek and to a lot of woods and farmland.  The thing I do like is the creek at the end of our street makes a huge loop that goes for miles only to return back within a quarter of a mile from itself. I like to put in a canoe or kayak there and paddle the loop downstream, shooting a 2240 along the way, then walk back to the SUV and go pick up the canoe.
