So... which is worse.. pigeon hole or rabbit hole?
My next project will be a Crosman Vantage. After swapping the Nitro Piston, cleaning and polishing the transfer port, refinishing the wood stock, working on the trigger, and stripping and re-bluing the barrel, it will pretty much be American (Me!) made. Yeah, it's a budget break barrel, but it's also a hobby and I can afford it over a little time and it's fun. And when I'm done I'll have a neat little air rifle, and I can add it to the "Cool stuff my Dad left me" pile for my daughter.
well... it has an American barrel, stock and sling...was ported/tuned by an American... only gets 6 shots off 2000 psi fill... bout 125$ into it...wish could say it liked 25g K.O. Slugs best but they tied for 3rd with 30g BBT...Beast 34g are runner up... JSB Monsters are it's favorite...do have to adjust last barrel band position for different ammo..
10 guage,I understand what you're looking for. Me, I'm building my own from a 3622, an old Crosman 114 elm stock, steel breech, and small parts made myself (I'm American). I'll slender up the stock like I did on my 362 a couple years ago. No sense waiting, I'm not getting younger. I'm liking the 3622, it's accurate and has plenty of power. Here it is with the 362 and it's future stock. With a little imagination and scrounging you can build some sweet airguns. I've got a nice collection developing. Good luck in your quest, it'll be worth it. 👍

I think one day I will graft in a 362 tube for the extra swept volume just to see how it turns out. All my guns have wood stocks as I just don't like plastic.
Van & Peter: I really like the lines of those classic style 1-piece stocks ( or appearance of being a 1-piece stock). I never had an air rifle in that style but do have some 22 rimfires from the 50's that have that look.Van: your stock looks like it has more drop at heel & toe than Peter's factory (?) Crosman stocks. Or is just the angle of the photo that makes it look like that? I wish someone in the US made fully or semi-inletted black walnut stocks for popular and, presumably, high sales volume air rifles. Black walnut trees are plentiful and stock blanks from straight-grained plain grade blanks shouldn't be cost prohibitive, right?I have to think that a person or existing business that produces semi-custom woodwork with CAD controlled machines could turn them out and make money at it. An example for firearms is Hoosier Gun Works, who have a LOT of stuff available and these days offer making a stock to your specs or patterned on an existing stock. I bought stuff from them 20 years ago and they've really expanded what they offer these days so it seems there's a market, at least for firearms. Mind you I don't really know anything about technical aspects of stock making or the business of it, it's more of a wish & wonder brain dump because I'd love to buy something in the pattern of your stocks.
