This is my Carnival Rodent Shooting Gallery. It even has a Whack-A-Mole section.

It is from behind the patio cover post, using the post and my hand (gripping the post) as a bench steady, aiming towards the backstop.

The gray waste bin is my pellet trap. I was checking the zero of my scope yesterday, as I was having to correct for being a tad high.

The rodents emerge from the left or right sides, and, scurry along the vary base of the backstop. My best day here was 8 Sage Rats (cal. ground squirrels)
The welded wire poultry fence material is to keep my cat from ambushing the birds.  She has to make herself obvious to them to get into that area.

Its base is two courses of landscape timbers that are from 4"x4"x8' pressure treated rounded shoulder landscape timbers/
The taller section is fence boards.  They are only there to deflect possible high bounce ricochets. The point of aim/impact is at the base courses of the backstop, and any ricochets would have to go nearly 90º straight vertical to get around this. I've never shot through the backstop, even with my more powerful Beeman PCP.
The backstop is 18" tall.

The Whack-a-Mole section can be anywhere in front of the backstop, where Gophers commonly, though, randomly emerge at different depths in the seeding field (my wifes bird feeding station is the real star here). 
They poke their heads up, and, get Whacked.

OK,... so i fibbed about no pics. I found a good one.
This is one of her Rats, below, from a bit ago; perhaps a year ago?
She came to us from our wild edge which is probably 15 acres of wild hillside, which is bordered with even more open land, and, into a vast area of wild, nat'l forest, state parks, and, private conservation land.. The neighbor above us sold and moved, and, Kitty seems to have been left behind. She lived on her own for about a year and a half, working towards becoming feral. 
She lived "with us" for a year or perhaps more, before we knew we had a cat. She was living up on our roof, where she could safely sleep without getting caught by our nightly packs of Coyotes.
When we realized that she was living on our roof, we started feeding her, and we became hers.
Over the last year, she has taken out dozens of pests.
She loves rodents. And she leaves our wild birds alone, thankfully, otherwise, Sarge wouldn't let her be here.
She now spends the nights with us in the house, and sleeps on my bed, on her own little bed made from a plastic storage box, filled with an old mattress topper pad, and covered in her favorite blanket. SHe also gets covered up at night with more blankets.

At any rate,... Kitty the wild rodent hunter.

It's great she adopted you, hopefully she also added you to her will...

Kitty: one large early grasshopper.

I was eating lunch, and looked out the window in time to see her go hauling butt across the driveway. She then jumped into the air in a twisting motion, swatting at what appeared to be nothing. Then she came trotting back across the driveway. When she got to the shady side, she started into the odd leaping and twisting motion, swatting at the air with her paws. This caused me to go see what she was doing.  When I rounded the corner, she was still at it. So I approached closer, still wondering about her swatting air. And there it was, large hopper caught by Kitty.
It got squashed, and she got brushed out, and brought in for the evening.

Saw a neighbor's cat doing that in my yard the other day. Cat was happy as could be.

 I was plinking in the basement range and Sky, our Tortie dropped a barely alive mouse mid way , I promptly gave the 362 one pump and put it out of its misery, even though the pellet bounced off. Then she went about tossing it around, I figured she would loose interest and I would clean up later, later no corpse to be found .

Oh, you may be cleaning it up later, alright, albeit in a transformed medium. More brown than red.

tomorrow,.. left eye lens implant surgery.

My new bionic left eye, which was operated on this past tuesday, went very well (today = thursday, two days later)

Me, This morning: 6 mice from my generator shed. I lost track of one of them.
Kitty showed up during this elimination round, and was impressed.

!6 years ago we got a feral kitten for our daughter's 14th birthday.  The kid comes and goes.  The cat is still with us.  She is an awesome killer.  Rats, mice, voles, moles, squirrels, birds, lizards, and snakes.  A few years ago she brought my wife a dead 12" Pygmy rattler.  She got a big piece of chicken (her favorite) for that.  She's getting old and slowing down but she keeps the house and all the outbuildings free of rodents.  She gets a good bit of help from Flash who is half Dachshund and a lethal ratter in his own right.

The successful surgery must be a big relief. I’d be so anxious. And I know my time will come to get both eyes done also.

Yeah, really glad its over.  The doctor said that I have some scar tissue in my right eye, left over the well matured thick cataract. So, tuesday, a week from now, we're going back for what he called a laser touch up. Its not Lasik, but, some other form of laser that is used in it. He said it is a 3 minute procedure, done with numbing drops, similar to the cat. surgery

For some reason, she feels its alright to gut the little bugger out at the front entry mat.

She left this one on the patio for us, and scooted off for more hunting fun.

Would be a popular solution if it caught on.

I never dreamed that cats like to go swimming, or run alongside owners who are x-c skiing, or ride on a SUP, but videos show that some cats do. A search on “adventure cats” yields a lot of fun cat videos.
