Army 01-09. Was in basic training when 9/11 occurred.
It’s awesome to see so many vets in here. I enlisted in the Air Force in 1988 as an Aerospace Ground Equipment Mechanic (AGE Ranger), and retired as an E-8 in 2014. I had numerous try’s and deployments as well as two unaccompanied tours in Korea. It was an awesome career that I would do over again in a heartbeat! Thank you for your service to all of you in this thread as well as all the first responders here at home!

I had plans to retire at 20 years, but I was really enjoying my time with the F22 program here in Alaska so I ended up staying until they told me I was going to have to leave Alaska!
AGE mechanics got no respect they deserved while us Crew Chiefs grabbed all the glory from the pilots.LOL... That is funny stuff right there. A -80 was a great machine!!!Jammers were fun for the BB stackers.
I got my Draft Notice in July of 1966. At that time I was a married, 24-year-old full-time college student with a pregnant wife. I was deferred to IIIA and did not serve in a 10-year old conflict that should never have happened. I sometimes feel guilty about that but; had I went, I probably wouldn't be writing this tonight. Thank you all for your service!
