Thank you for your service Gary, it's a good thing that you are doing. I didn't know what to do when I came back from the service, I just sort of stumbled back into society.

Stumbling back?? Sure describes me and I had a wife and two kids who depended on me getting it together again. Would have been nice to have someone guiding me.

I'm not considered a Veteran by VA standards. My service time was a drop in the bucket compared to a lot of you. My hats off.

US Army 11B Oct-2010-Jan-2012. I tore a back muscle at my 8th week in basic. I went through the rehab at Fort Benning and recycled into another battalion 2 months later. Finished basic/AIT and was sent to Fort Bliss, TX as my duty station. Spent a solid 6 months there and was out at a FTX two weeks before a deployment to Afghanistan and was in an accident and fractured L2-L3. Watched my Regiment deploy while I was put back together, rehabbed and was hoping for a re-training into another MOS and got a DD214 instead. My dream was law enforcement but I went back to school and pursued IT as it was a passion in high school. Now I spent my days fighting the VA. My back is pretty messed up and I'm in a lot of daily pain and they basically ignore me since I was injured state side.

Air force 1975-1979 had a break in service then re-enlisted again and served til I retired in 1997
