Anyone have N.U.A.H. goals for 2023?

Well, looks like I got 2 goals checked off. Looks like I need to make a change or up my game.
I would like to say 200yds, however I don’t think it would be done this year. Maybe next year, or maybe I can set up something portable. Both the target stand and shooting position.
I would like to put together something more stable/sturdy than the Caldwell portable bench.

I would like to see more activity in N.U.A.H. in 2024. This would be my goal.
Would you people be interested in submitting photos (either targets or what your range looks like) monthly of what you are doing? They don't have to be good targets, you wouldn't even have to be a member, just show how you are shooting at over 100 yards. Nothing official, just something for other people to look at. I probably should make this a poll, but I would kind of like to see people's comments.

The way I would see this running would be a new thread monthly with a summary at the end of the month and the thread being locked and a new thread for the next month being started. Only current pictures/targets/comments being put up monthly. Basically as many as you want.

The main obstacke for me is lack of a 100 yd range. I am tentatively hunting with my buddy in Januaryand will hipefully get the chance to shoot.

If anyone is nearby, say an hour, Pittsburgh and has a 100 yd setup, I would bring my akela and practice as well as post.

Kevin, I have been holding off posting up my plinking so as not to clutter up the forum.
I am planning on starting that this month, mainly in response to the question of integrity that was brought up in one of the match threads. I figure if I can show the targets leading up to the submitted target maybe it will help with that.
I have to admit I am still trying different things and trying to keep up with what target went with what ever new thing can get tiring.

Now for my next set of goals. Over 200yds and to advance in the ranking. If I advance to the next ranking at a shorter distance, then to advance in the ranking at longer distances. Right now it is looking like 200 yds may be the best I can do without an elevated platform.

Something else for the winter time is to build up a fork lift portable shooting bench/house for Los Ranchito.

I think that's a good idea. Would give me at least more excuses to do some shooting. Like the idea of it being monthly threads that get closed.  Would keep it more organized I think.
Also got goals to improve my standing in the club hopefully this month because I want a target I'm happy with enough to post in the 100 yard match. Gonna be hard though because I'm waiting on ammo in the mail but it might not get here until the 30th so we'll see.

Since 2023 is nearly gone? For 2024 I plan to do the .30 FX Dreamline Lite.
That Gun has taken 3 Ground hogs at 90 yards with head shots in 2023.

I'm stuck at 50 yards for now. As humbling as it is to say. I have access to a hundred but this year I've really worked on several different guns that the main goal was to dial them in between fifty and seventy five. There's always next year to stretch it out.

Kevin, I think this is a great idea.... Not being able to "shoot with the best" is probably hurting participation in the matches, so a change in emphasis for NUAH is probably healthy.... Certainly worth a try for 2024....

I'm sure there are reasons for the lack of N.U.A.H. participation. Mainly because of range and time restraints, but also have to factor in life and/or family situations people might be going through. Give it time, eventually things will pick up again.

I finally found something I really enjoy, mod and shoot so the N.U.A.H. goals will wait until I am either a certified airsmith or I crash and get back to the basics.

I plan on taking a week off in the spring (May) to just focus on shooting and hitting long distance targets. We get overrun by Starlings around here in the spring and I want to see if I can do some 200y+ hits.

I'm not trying to derail the topic, but I sure wish I had some starlings to shoot around here.

What happened to the starlings?  I used to see flocks of thousands or more.    When they landed on my property, it was quite the amazing sight.   Haven't seen a big flock of them in years.  Maybe they were actually grackles.

I have a new air gun and hope to try to qualify for nuah in .177 and .22.
I have ordered all three barrels for my AEA Avenge-X. It came with the .22. I have only shot in my back yard so far but hope to get to the range next week.
I have some .177 slugs I"ve shot in my Beeman underlever and will try them in my Avenge-X when the barrel kit comes in. That's looking March now.

Wow. That's a lot of snow!

My NUAH goals include going for higher ranks by decreasing group size and getting more on bull in .177.

Still limited to my buddy's range I won't see for a while.

It took me many, many attempts to achieve my N.U.A.H. status. Am lucky to be able to shoot at that distance in my backyard… The N.U.A.H. club is pretty exclusive because the majority will not have access to such a range. Plus, the fact that consistently grouping with pellets at 100 yards is a difficult endeavor, even when conditions are optimal. Maybe a N.U.F.Y. club?  Nothing Under Fifty Yards? Decrease the required group size accordingly. I believe that would increase participation… I only shot to 100 yards to achieve the meaningless status, because practically its not how I use my airguns. If I tried to achieve that “master” status again? It would take many, many attempts. Its not the norm for the majority, or even the exceptional few, to shoot master level groups with pellets at 100 yards consistently, simply unrealistic.

 Nice to be able to practice in the back yard, I only have 50 yards so I get 1/2 the practice. I do have 100+ yards to shoot at work, and have just got back into the habit of shooting there a couple times a week. Winds have been 30 mph most times, but the big bores hold on the the POA quite well. .177 would take a right turn 1/2 way there LOL
