 I picked up a version of the low powered trap at TS, for my SSP Barra Jr. etc. my .22 Barra CO2 .22 left nasty dents at 410 fps, so if anyone is looking at the light weight version, keep its use to .177 pea shooters

I have several other brands of pellets that I am anxious to try out later on this spring, when the weather warms up a bit.
I have about 4 different types of JSB 's in .22 cal, up to and including JSB Hades.
Last year I scored 2 boxes that were full of .22 & .25 pellets, thru the GTA Classifieds and the Pay It Forward Gate.
All in all, about 35 to 40 pounds worth for a cost of around $20.
I also got some .177 cal. pellets too but mostly the others.

my new gamo magnum gr /.22 is being broken in with bore cleanings. It turns the patch black but does not smoke . It can smell like burnt oil when I check the target. Groups are 1 or 2 inches across. I like the open sights.

If the patches are black then you don't have a clean barrel to start with.

Get some GooGone, soak a clean patch in it and pull once or twice from breach to muzzle, then pull clean dry patches until they come out as clean as they went in.  This will start you with a clean barrel, then shoot about 200 cheap, I usually use CPHPs, to 'season' the barrel.  Once you do that then you start looking for tighter groups and that 'one' pellet that the gun shoots the best.  Once the one is found then you don't clean the barrel again until it starts to lose accuracy again, groups widen.

The cocking is getting smoother. The bore is clearing up after 5 or 6 passes. I have a metal .177 ramrod and I would prefer a pull-through cleaner made of weedeater cord or a teflon covered rod. It has some serious recoil and the cocking force is a lot like my Hatsan 135. -Kirk

What was the velocity.  According to AirGunDepot calculator it would take a velocity of 1010 fps.  I think the velocity on that model shows 1000 fps max, so is probably correct.  WOW - indeed.

Has anyone try H&N Baracuda Green .25 Cal 19.91g in a Gamo .25 cal. I know the H&N FTT 20.06g very accurate in my Hunter Extreme.
