Umarex Notos. Initial Impressions/Observations

I'm running a Rex Optics 1-5x on mine and it's perfect for what I'm using it for 😎

I tried to google search for that optic but didn't see it. I want to know more.

I actually bought it off the Airgun Detectives guy here a while back. I haven't seen another one, but I'd definitely buy a couple more. Here's a picture of the barcode off the packaging.

I think it's no longer in production, what a shame.

Anything on AliExpress is no longer an option for me, not since every time I try to check out I get a failed transaction notice and they want me to send a color picture of my Driver's License and front and back of my Credit Card!  What doesn't make sense is I'm using PayPal for payment, so they get paid by PayPal, they don't need my CC info and there's no way in #3!! I'm giving them a copy of both sides of my credit card or Driver's License.  Until they figure that out I'm done with AliExpress!

My magazines arrived today from CARM and from Airguns and Archery Fun. I have no shortage of magazines now!  The CARM mags are pretty nice, 12 rounds and they fit really well with the scope I have too!

He makes some really nice magazines and single shot trays. I have 4 oem magazines for the Notos if those all fail I’ll order the Carm for sure

I'm not sure why the Notos came with the tiny 7 round mags, other than to save money by using rebadged PP750 mags!  It's not like it's easily converted to a pistol like the Jet with it's flip up sights and tool-less removeable stock.  The CARM Mags don't sit too high and are perfect for a carbine. 

To make the Notos a pistol you have to buy the sights and the pistol grips, why not just include a 12 round mag with the Notos Carbine and then offer a pistol kit that includes the grips, sights and a 7 round magazine!  That would have made more sense to me...

The factory pic rail is a nice touch. Is that a high capacity magazine or standard CARM mag? I thought the regular CARM mags were six shot and the factory were seven shot. I was considering a high cap CARM mag for my Bandit or Stormrider (almost the same design) but they wouldn't work with the super low red dots I like.

I've been reading this thread on the Notos and decided I needed one so I bought a used one from Fred White should be here tomorrow looking forward to it setup for close range starling sniping not sure if I want to use a red dot or a scope.

Anyone try one of these folding stock adapters from New England Airguns?  Just curious if it fits the Notos...

When I saved a copy of the image, it's named UTG-Leapers-Side-Folder.jpg.  When I googled it, Optics Planet has it and says it an AK47 Folding Stock adapter.  If it fits the Notos, it would be a pretty cool accessory!

Terry, the Sig Romeo 4H red dot with quadplex reticle will go on mine when it arrives tomorrow. A 1X optic with a scope like crosshatch, sorta best of both worlds for shorter ranges.

Thanks Mike!  It seems like a pretty reasonable price if it works!  Optics Planet has them for $22 plus shipping, so that might be a bit cheaper...

I wish they were available on Amazon just because you can easily return anything on Amazon if they don't fit!  But, I don't want to order from somewhere else without knowing if it will work!

I'm also thinking of trying some clamp on iron AR style iron sights.  Amazon has a pair for pretty cheap, and if they don't work, I can easily return them!

OP is a good source they take stuff back no worries. I have purchased a lot of stuff. Things are not as fast as Amazon but that’s ok

I have purchased a lot from OP also, but never returned something just because it didn't fit and I just took a leap of faith when purchasing it!  I fear they won't pay return shipping if I'm returning because I bought the wrong item! 

I do that all the time with Amazon, and never had an issue, but Amazon is a totally different animal from more companies!    I'd just feel better ordering it if I knew beforehand that it will work!  My reservation is the tube size of the Notos.  I have a sling ring that instally on an AR Buffer Tube and the diameter of the ring that goes on the buffer tube was considerably larger than the tube on the Notos.

So in the FAQ section for the folder it only fits aks so I don’t think it’ll work with the notos.

Bummer!  I did send an e-mail the New England Airguns and asked if it would fit the Notos.  Not sure they'd have on one hand to test, but hopefully then will respond...

That’s where I got mine from originally for my prod so I’ll try it anyway and see if it’ll fit. It was pricey from what I remember

I ordered from OP twice and both time I was not happy with the long delivery times. Admittedly I am very impatient.
