Umarex Notos. Initial Impressions/Observations

I have a pp750 in 177 but I really like the looks of the notos and I like it's a 22. I usually wait until the gun has been out for some time to buy.  I might have to break that rule. My pp750 is to weak for squirrels in the yard but the notos would be plenty. I guess I'm just trying to justify the purchase since I just bought 2 inexpensive guns in the last 3 months. I want to wait but wonder how long the notos will be stocked.

Yeah, been looking for something much shorter than the Origin with less power for back yard. Think this fits the want.
Don't poo poo the power. 600 fps in .22 is more than plenty to take down squirrels at any sane range.
This should be easier handling carbine without so much over penetration. Add in the fun factor....

Mine turned down as far as it’ll allow on the hammer spring is still shooting the CPHP at 740. Way more than my prod

Yeah, but I don't need it. Eventually I'll tire of the slightly wiggly factory stuff and cave in, but I'm not there yet. I would also like to see a way to rigidly attach the tri-rail or MLok rail to the grip so it can't rotate about the tube. I've had this problem several times with the OEM Chaser Rifle barrel band/sight holder. It's not hard to bump the barrel on something while wading through the bush looking for snowshoe hares and totally lose zero. Then I don't know the zero is bad until I try to shoot a squirrel (since I never find any hares). A very frustrating experience. I have less problems with my Stormrider since removing the second barrel band and just making sure I degas when removing the upper receiver. If you don't, the TP can end up sitting cocked and then the receiver won't sit flush on the tube.

I like a nice 2 MOA dot out to about 50 yards. Beyond that I prefer a small scope.

I would love a 1 MOA holographic sight, but I hate how tall they are.

DJ, have a look at the Sig Romeo 4H with the quadplex reticle. It has a scope like crosshatch with 1/2 MOA hold over dots for longer range.

I actually bought it off the Airgun Detectives guy here a while back. I haven't seen another one, but I'd definitely buy a couple more. Here's a picture of the barcode off the packaging.
