Resurrected Mod 95

Almost 3 years ago to the day I had asked for help with  my 95. I received excellent advice from Yogi, SteveP52 and mossonarock amongst others. After replacing a broken spring, piston and breach seals the gun worked perfectly.........for about 2 weeks

Then, for some reason, the gun refused to cock. Disheartened, disillusioned, Diseverything, the gun was consigned to the basement and forgotten, again, and I went German.

A few months ago I came across the gun under a pile of junk and rags and had a fit of conscience. Stripped the gun and discovered that I had reinstalled the spring with a too thick slip washer. I have no idea why the gun cocked OK after the initial rebuild. Out with washer, reassemble, cock and load the gun and I was rewarded with literally small plate sized groups . This from a gun that, when it was working well, reliably hit dimes at 30 yards.

Sigh!

The gun languished some more but wasn't forgotten this time.

Mmmmmmm. I hit Amazon (love gift cards), and a cleaning rod, a couple of jags, mops, brass brushes, JB bore paste and carnauba wax later I set to work. An hour or so of scrubbing and cleaning and waxing I was ready to shoot, 'cept it was dark and cold. And it stayed cold for a long time.

Tonight I had the opportunity to fire off exactly 2 pellets and this time saw one hole, with open sights, at 15 yards.

It's going to be next weekend before I get to shoot it again, hopefully scoped and at a longer distance, but so far things are looking promising.
