Al already made the HP deeper, the only way to make it larger in diameter would be to increase the Meplat diameter.... That will reduce the BC somewhat, particularly once you go past 50% of the caliber.... Making it lighter by that method will lose BC for 2 reasons, the lower SD and the poorer FF.... However, I will mention it to him.... He is concerned that making the slug much shorter will not leave enough paraller section to keep the slug straight in the bore....

I suggested some changes to Al, which he adopted.... The preliminary drawing is shown below.... As the SD comes out to 0.087, I would expect the BC to be similar (the program underestimates it for bullets under 1.5 calibers long)....



As you can see, the weight comes out at 55 gr. as requested.... Al said he would get this in the works, which means adding the tooling to those waiting to be made....

Bob if a mold like that was available today I'd have it on order in whatever material he chooses to make it, I think that slug with the cup point would be awesome out of my gun.

Having any kind of hollows in both ends is reserved for swaging only, not casting....

James that style of slug seems to like the faster speeds, with my 22 cal shooting up to mach speeds when I shoot a squirrel at 50 yards every thing to my eye's seems instantaneous through the scope except what I hear a shortly delayed report.  I must admit that I do use plenty of air for each shot though. Max shooting the slugs on full power I only get 2 12 round clips.  For me that's plenty of shooting because usually I only do two or three shots every time I get out hunting with it.
