Preferred fill method for you

I have two 45 minute CF tanks and fill them to 4k off of a YH compressor. I live where I shoot so the tanks are fine for me. I do recommend using the EdGun EaZy Fill for filling off a tank though, it's a real air saver. The Altros inline regulator is also a Godsend for the Chaser with a tiny SafPack, I can tether it at 2400psi and shoot a full tin of CPHP's without any movement on the tank gauge! 

Frankly, for the money, the YH compressors have hit the middle ground for me, $200 or so for the compressor, rebuildable and available.

That depends on who you talk to... 
I use Air Venturi compressor oil from PA.

Any reputable brand of synthetic compressor oil should be fine. I did a first oil change after a few fills on my 100ci bottle since the oil was much darker. So far it hasn't gotten dark again, so it should be properly broken in.

It's the same one I mentioned a few months ago, you teased me to stop tempting you!

It really works well, what a joy it is to shoot a small tubed gun and really get it tuned well when you know air is no longer an issue. I will be pulling my aluminum tank off the AEA Carbine tomorrow and will replace it with a carbon fiber one I found to save a couple pounds of weight. The Aluminum tank (350cc) will get a new valve and the inline regulator for "gas on the go".

Stopped at seven auto parts stores, and two tractor supplies… No luck. The airgun hobby truly requires some fairly exotic materials, in order to participate. A lesson I’m quickly learning…

Nuvair 751 or 455 High Pressure compressor oil. There is also a Mobile HP oil but in any case, you have to use HP Compressor oils, the rest will diesel!!!

Good Saturday morning all you crazy air gunners....
I had to wait for Betty Lou and Boss to roll out of bed before I could top my 60min SCBA tank off. It was down to 3k.
My YH sits in the uninsulated and un climate controled utility room of the house. I run a 5gal water supply bucket with and upgraded pump. I also swapped the temp gauge from OEM celsious to an LED F guage.
i run the OEM in line water trap and the MRodAir mid size black trap/filter. I dumped the beads out of that one and filled it with the proper size 'tampons'.
Took about 13 minutes to run it up to 4k and the temp reached 135f. I shut it down and bled it off. Then I let the temp cool to 80f. (Bout 10 minutes) Ambient water temp in the bucket was 73f.
After cool down I fired it back up and ran the tank up to around 4400psi..... another 6 minutes or so. Temp climbed to 125 ish. Shut it back down, bled it off and did another cool down.
Water temp in the bucket was around 82 - 83f at that point.
What surprised me most was how little water came out during bleed off. I think the humidity here right now is around 65% or better. So I fired it back up to see how much moisture was reaching the tank...... Nothing... Bone dry air coming out of the black filter.  We're good to go....

I accidentally vented most of the air out of my 100ci bottle yesterday, so I had to fill it up from a lot lower than usual. I just ran it in two separate short sessions and venting the moisture in between sessions. I let it cool back down as you did. These little compressors are amazingly fast for the price. I may buy a rebuild kit sooner than later, just in case. Running a compressor for maybe 10 minutes in a long day of shooting compared to running the portable every one or two magazines (or less on my .45) for a few minutes is much better. I just can't see a situation where I would rather pack a small 12v dry compressor than two 100ci pony bottes or an SCBA tank and a pony bottle. Carry the pony bottle in a pack while stalking/sitting in the stand and top it off with the SCBA bottle. Then you don't even need power if you are hunting really remote.

Virtually all of our shooting is right here at home so I really can't justify one.

 Bottled air was my preferred option at first, and still is my main supply, I keep topped off with my F-10, but added a 12v portable mainly for my high fill pressure Piledriver .50, 3 accurate shots and it needs the full fill to do it again. If I were just hunting with it 3 shots would be fine, and a 1-2 L bottle would give me another top off if needed.

I hear folks all the time talking about taking bottles and such on a hunt. My PCP guns get 30 or more shots from a fill. If you need more than that for a hunt I see one of two things...
Either I want to hunt where you go or you need alot more range time.....   lol

Virtually all of our shooting is right here at home so I really can't justify one.

I started with a portable because I thought it would be a less expensive way to get beyond hand pumping, and it allowed me to get a big bore. Well, it doesn't really work as well as you want it to, and running a compressor every three shots on my big bore got annoying. Our Eagle Claw has a 500cc tube and uses about 350-400 psi per magazine with the last shot falling off of the curve (so really seven shots), that's a lot of run time on a little compressor. This meant I really only used it for my SPA PR900 (Stormrider), which was a waste because I preferred hand pumping it over listening to a vehicle (45 HP tractor, Diesel dually, or generator) idle and the compressor screaming away. This lead to me buying a 100ci bottle, which was totally within the specs listed by Vevor for my dry compressor. You can probably see where this is going, but I'll say it anyway, it didn't work out. I got maybe five fills on the pony bottle before the motor released all of the magic smoke. That was with a compressor side that was just warm to the touch and only running it for ten minutes with an hour break. I got refund on the compressor before it died, because the 12v functionality stopped working. Anyway, I used the refund and bought a YH compressor, and that was the best thing I ever did.

Eventually I want a cart so I can roll it outside, which will increase the humidity problems, but I do have a big desiccant filter that I'll use when that happens. So far I don't have any SCBA or big CF bottles yet, but that is the next thing I want to do. Then I'll probably just run the YH once a month, which would be the ideal thing. The best times to shoot here are early morning when the wind is low, but my partner sleeps in (I have to get up and feed the chickens, alpacas, etc.) and I do not wish to wake her with the YH, even if it is outside. A big bottle will let me shoot our Eagle Claw and .45 Challenger as much as I want in the morning and not have to disturb anyone.

Anyway, a bit of a ramble there. None of my "real life" friends are into airguns, so this is where I get out my desire to talk about it!

Hunting big game with big bores requires a lot of fills. I only get two really good shots per fill on my .457, three if I don't mind a bit of a velocity dip. Ideally I like to make a good six shot group to call it "ready for duty". That's half of the 100ci bottle, with enough left for four or six good shots to take at game. Some people like to have a buffer, so another 100ci bottle should do it. Some people have to travel a long way to do big game hunting. I had some friends in NC that would travel to Canada and stay out for weeks during season. I certainly would like to have an excess of air rather than just enough.

My PR900 in current tune only gets 12 good 27 FPE shots per fill, but it's also super easy to hand pump, same with the Bandito, but I can tune it for 18 good shots at 12 FPE. My Eagle Claw performs well in the 50-75 FPE range depending on what ammo you want to use, and it only gets 6 good shots at 75 FPE or 16+ at 50 FPE. And I would want the 100ci bottle to take with me for that one, which is more than enough for a day of hunting, but I really use the Eagle Claw for paper punching or in the event of a predator attack on our farmstead.

I also don't need to go hunting beyond our property, so I will never need to take any bottles with me anywhere. If I'm hunting for deer on our property I would just take the gun and if I miss two times, I'll just go home.

Looks like they also went up in price, $275 now on Amazon and eBay. I got my last one in 2021, it was $212.00.
