One tip I will give you..Connect the input water hose to the bottom and the oulet (return to bucket) to the top.
Lots of acceptable ways to keep things cool. You need to satisfy yourself. I'm good the way I do it.
For me it depends on the situation. If I’m close to my vehicle in the field then a micro direct fill compressor gives me unlimited air. If I’m walking around and need a couple fills then a small bottle works great. If I’m in my back yard either a large air cylinder or a micro compressor works great. I didn’t mention a hand pump because most of my guns are higher than 3000 psi and have larger air cylinders. The only guns I would hand pump are my Mrod and prod that’s pretty much it even than it’s a back up. I’d rather have a back up micro compressor than hand pump lol. What’s your preferred method or do you choose the fill type for the job?
I pulled the mag. And did a series of dry fires. With changing sounds as the gun reports. Sometimes louder. Sometimes quieter. Sometimes nothing. And when I shake the gun, I can hear something rattle in the action. What just happened?

Although it does vibrate a lot, so you may have loosened up the cocking pin/screw on your bolt or hammer. Sounds like you need to take the action out of the stock and take a look.

But I’m not real big on the notion of coincidence… I bought the pump to feed my Challenger Pro. Now… till I figure out what just happened to my sentry… There’s no way I’m plugging it up to this brand new rifle…

Ideally you should try to degas the rifle, but since it's being weird, maybe not. At least make sure the rifle is not cocked and ready to fire. I would look for a video specific to your rifle, there are probably several, that show you how to disassemble the rifle.
