My Diana Chaser (Artemis CP2 locally)

After shipping delays because of a number of public holidays the 2-7x32 AO finally arrived this morning, replacing the super cheap 3-9x40 non-AO I had on it.

Am thinking I will be able to use lower mounts with this scope but just mounted it on these mounts for now.

My .22 Diana Chaser rifle arrived a few days ago. So far I am VERY impressed for the price. Seems accurate with all pellets, even Crosman Pemieres. With the long barrel and silencer, whisper quiet. This is gonna be a great backyard pinker. Better trigger than the Quattro on my Hatsan, and that’s a compliment.
I may eventually drop one of my spare scopes on it, but for now just running a 30mm red dot if I decide to go back to pistol configuration.
The little tool that threads in the front cap is genius. Anyone else would just include a separate tool to carry around.

Yes, forgot to mention that, and the fact it came with a pack of replacement seals as well.

While the carrying case is a nice touch, it’s kinda useless except for storage cause once you mount the stock, the long barrel or can, it won’t fit. The existing foam could be cut for the stock/pistol only but while the stock does come off easily, I wouldn’t want to repeatedly swap barrels and lose a gasket or screw. I have a block of solid foam I can cut down so I can repurpose the case but I’ll just be using a std. rifle case for the Chaser.

I have some mags on their way from Croatia so for now I’m in single shot mode, so can’t comment on how the left side bolt will work with ‘rapid fire’ but it’s perfect for single shot mode.

Been a bit busy with work and other stuff, but eventually got to drawing up and making an adjustable cheek piece for the little rifle.

It is based on Bob Pattenden's design, which I would have gladly purchased but he does not ship to South Africa, exchange rates not so good for us at the moment, and I have a 3D printer.

Prototype printed and it works perfectly.

Did you get any of his 14 shot mags for the chaser if you did those high rings will work great.

Just a couple more steps to finish the Chaser conversion. I have the drop-block installed and a .35L CF tank attached to a 2200psi regulator threaded into the drop-block.

AR furniture arrives this week (butt and hand grip) that will finish off the upgrades then I will pull it apart and prep/paint the aluminum black to match the rest of the gun.

I think about doing a bottle conversion on my .25 cal all the time, but I would get a Chaser tube like you have since it's a touch shorter than my Bandit tube, then I figure might as well get an entire chaser and the BR conversion, and then, and then....

I may open up the regulator and see if I can modify it al all or just shoot the gun down until I see 860 FPS and get another regulator for that pressure.

Since you have a bottle and now a massive plenum, you could potentially turn it up to 2400 PSI and/or shim the inside of the hammer with a bit of lead for more strike. You could also maybe buy a Stormrider barrel from Wes to squeeze out a bit more efficiency. A .25 cal conversion would also help with power and efficiency.

I get 15 shots at 13 FPE (550 FPS 20.06 g H&N FTT) per 220b fill on a 50cc tube with an internal Altaros regulator set to 100b (so the tube volume must be almost nothing at this point). This means around 200 FPE per fill in 25 caliber, and that's using a Chaser hammer spring and no extra shimming or anything. Using a long barrel, like the one Wes sells for the .25 cal stormrider conversion there's probably 15 FPE available at the current reg setting and hammer spring.


Your bottle reg might not be as good as the Altaros inline reg, and you may need to set it a little higher to get the same output pressure.  Sounds like it is at least very consistent even if the absolute pressure isn't as accurate.

Wes is the proprietor and easy to do business with. Eventually I'll be converting my Stormrider to .25 cal, but sending in my old .177 stuff as a "core charge" for the .25 cal parts. Keep the Stormrider spring in there, the Chaser spring is only good for tuning for low power.

I definitely need a better .177 barrel, never ever had a .177 that shot well, it's the holy grail for me! I have 2 guns chambered for .25 so a Chaser in .25 would be a down-the-road project.

My .177 Chaser Rifle barrel is very accurate, I just don't care for handling .177 pellets. Even .22 cal pellets are on the small side.
