OK so I changed my mind again 

Decided to keep my Winchester as my low power gun, so I maxed out the spring on the MAX and this is the string I got,

200 BAR 28gr Benjamin pellets :

this is also the best string yet, guess the gun is also breaking in or she just really like this tune 

That's awesome consistency! Looks like the regulator has settled in and you are in the sweet spot.

What is the weight on the standard and max? I must have missed where you posted them. The Standard might be a nice replacement for my SPA PR900 (Stormrider) if the weight is very low. I'm hoping I can get my wife to shoot the Stormrider with me since it is so light.

 So I thought the Standard was supposed to make more power than the max even though its unregulated? Like 50+ FPE at around 900.

Correct, the Standard maxed out stock makes 50 FPE
the MAX maxed out stock makes 45 FPE

At least the 2 I have, and by maxed out I mean maxing out the hammerspring adjuster

This appears to be a nicely made rifle.  The threaded barrel has mostly been in the realm of custom single shots like my old XP Ranger 45.  However, I am just not in the market for another PCP pellet shooter.

These guns will be very competitive and it is a nice stock on the unregulated rifle as I have stated before, but for this old bullet caster it is just another short magazined, choked pellet shooter of which I own too many now.

I have had a few nice single shot slug shooters and still own a Texan LSS 257, but longer magazine slug rifles like the Benjamin Bulldog and the Kral Bighorn, once the choke was removed, have spoiled me with those longer magazines that work well with my cast bullets.

Basically if it is not suited or designed for cast projectiles, I am intrigued, but not interested at the same time.

Luckily for the manufacturer of these potentially value packed rifles, I am in the minority.

+1   They sure didn't have slugs in mind when they put a choked barrel on them I wholeheartedly agree with you RC, they need to design them with a deeper magazine for shooting good slugs from.

Considering they sell these guns internationally, they have to accommodate for pellet shooters abroad. Also the reason why the hammer is so light. I’m hoping Troy can special request non choked barrels and heavier hammers from JTS.

I don't know if it will play a factor in these particular guns but, I remember when we were all modding and tinkering with the SPA guns... the barrels were one of the parts that we were not able to get. China was not permitted to ship barrels as parts.

I talked with Mike M from FDAR and he said that isn't true and the same goes for the stocks as well.  That was back when SPA was telling people that.  That's one of the few reasons I haven't bought any SPA guns in a very long time.

Got ya.... yeah, I was told that by Julie at SPA personally... I just took her at her word.

But they also charged $50 shipping for parts we could get....

I just talk to Wes and he sends me SPA parts, but the barrels have been impossible to get since I've been buying SPA stuff for the last year. I heard from another Canadian company they were supposed to be getting some Stormrider .22 cal barrels, but got sent a box of .177 Chaser Rifle barrels by mistake. The same could have happened to Wes because he did have spare .177 Chaser rifle barrels.

Kind of hard to judge parts availability at the moment between the pandemic factory closures and shipping delays. I'm sure three years ago parts were much easier to get for SPA stuff.

I suspect there is a bit more power on the table for the Standard if you fill a bit higher, but it may not be worth it for you personally.

Not stock, if you look at my string with the hammerspring adjuster maxed out it has already a bell curve starting 879 fps and back to 880 fps at shot 14, peaking at shot 7 @ 898 fps,

so filling at more pressure would only extend the curve, once I get the ad on hammer weight and play with stronger springs then yes filling to more pressure will come into play.

My last email conversation with Xhu-Li AKA Julie at SPA indicated vendors/authorized distributors can buy barrels, but owners of the SPA guns cannot.  I'm okay with that.  There are better barrles out there and if people want them, they'll buy them.  I try to keep things in perspective- no company offers superlative barrels in budget airguns.

My SPA PP700, PP750, and M25 all have demonstrated excellent accuracy for the budget.  But they simply aren't as good as the top-of-line stuff from Easten Europe and the UK.

Yeah, shiny glossy to me just looks cheap! When I got my xisico xs-60c I stripped it down, sanded it a little, restained it with a darker stain and gave it 3 coats of lacquer. It looks way more better now

Tung oil don't make them shiny, will finish with Carnuba oil wax and that you can make shiny or dull, probably will buff it for the pictures

The wood was very thirsty, soaked up the Tung oil fast.
