Kicked the training wheels off, got a good grip on the handles bars and shot a 12 shot group with a cheap red dot sight in rapid fire at 10 meters tonight. Not all that pretty but I was impressed with the tactile feedback of the semiauto feature and the dead-on shot placement.

Not bad for transonic pellets and semi-auto! You may want to find a heavier pellet mold or a slug mold. My Hunter mold drops a 19 grain pellet, and that should be going 950 FPS in your gun, probably still too fast. If you are looking for a pellet, I think you will want as heavy as 24 grain, the NOE Hunter Magnum mold should get you there. On the other hand I bet the 218-25-RF would be idea for that gun, if they ever come back in stock.

Already ahead of you, I have had that mold for a couple months now, makes some nice slugs. When I shot that plate at 50 yards, I had the sun over my shoulder so I could see the CPHP fly to the target, no spiraling even at transonic speeds. Interesting.

The slugs should do well but I may have to make another sizer to tweak them some. I will be casting tonight and the 218-25-RF is at the top of the list.

And before Frank points it out, stugs fly straighter than slugs...

I’ve been eyeing dreamlines and a cpl AA rifles but to do so I kind of would have to sell at least one of my avengers. I just can’t. I know many hate them but I love mine at least for now. First pic (hopefully they load in right order smallest group) is 47 yards with my 25 cal. Low shot was 1st sighter. Brought scope up 3 clicks and shot 7 shot group. The second, slightly larger group was with my 22 at 49 yards. The hole in the box was already there. Isn’t exactly calm out there in Michigan right now so I really think the two that got a touch left on me were casualties of the wind as it would have pushed them that way. I therefore shot an 8th one on the 22 target to make up for the one that pushed more left.   The 25 were 25.39 FX pellets and the 22 were 18.1 barracuda pellets.

Yeah I don’t often shoot much past 50. I honestly don’t see the avenger as a much past 50 gun. I did take a pigeon at 66 yards with the 22 Monday. It took a second  shot as I didn’t hold enough for the wind on the first shot and it wasn’t like it was really gusty or anything. You really have to know your projectile and conditions unless it is super calm when you get out there far.

Yeah I don’t often shoot much past 50. I honestly don’t see the avenger as a much past 50 gun. I did take a pigeon at 66 yards with the 22 Monday. Well i tried the hatsan 95 and the paper plate at 50.  Had eaten off of it , let ruff lick it clean, and shoot it.

I figured sam had somthing going there and would help my shooting luck ,but no luck at all..

The 95 seems smoking hot😉 ( smoke from 1 shot)

The Ruger BlackHawk I bought back in December looked like that for the first couple of shots. LOL!

Time to PM MikeyB or SteveP.  They know a lot more about what goes on inside a Hatsan than I do.  If it just started smoking I’d think oil was getting past the piston seal.  Chronograph numbers would be helpful.

They were pretty darn good . Average 751 fps low to high was like 6 fps with cphp..

I got it near apart , well stock pulled and barrel, im on the trigger next but came in for a drink so as soon as i cool my heals im going back out and do some more . At least get it fully apart .  Im short on cleaning stuff  and did not think about any when i went in today for a new bar clamp.   

You can already tell/see the shoe is scraping the ram pretty good  so that's the scraping noise I'll assume,.   Now to find whats the moneing and groning noise from..  maybe a tore seal?

This was actually from the other day; realized that my 350 had a loose stock screw after I had dialed in some clicks left to get on-target at 100 yards; so tightened things up and rezeroed offhand at 20 yards-shot from right to left; no real order up and down-pulled my first shot due to poor form (at least that was the worst one, LOL); that's the one way off in the middle right-dots are maybe 3/8"

Need more offhand practice; but didn't do as bad as I expected, to be honest; having spent my last several shooting opportunities shooting rested... At least on the last two shots anyhow
