Yep, my package from aceros-de-hispania which is a Onyx branded PP700 is lost, UPS has launched an investigation to find my PP700 lost somewhere in the Void known as Customs, it was taken into Customs 12/10/20 and has not been seen since, I bet some Customs agent is having too much fun with the PP700 and decided that lost in transit is a good thing.... ?

, We'll see what happens?

Will they find it and ship it?

Will they just give up and say too bad?

or will they pay for a new one?

what do you think?........

There are no set "rules" when a package gets stuck in customs. Sometimes they get processed quickly, other times it can take a few months. I would contact the seller and have them initiate a search on their end. Will UPS or Customs buy you a new one? You have a better chance of hitting the Powerball twice in a row. Hope it gets to you soon

That is not right....really!? I hope it was not stolen by an employee but just misplaced. I'm sure someone has to refund you as tracking shows where it ended up. Maybe UPS has to file for you, not sure on that note.

Something similar happened to me last year when I purchased an LDC from the UK. It was taking far too long for it to arrive. I contacted the UK seller and asked them to keep an eye out for it. Sure enough, US Customs had returned it to them.

I won't go into the details of how I eventually received the LDC, but in your case, I would contact the seller and ask them to watch for a potential "return of item".

Man that's sad, I had some stuff ordered months back that had to come through customs, they did finally show up but were about 3 months late. In both cases, the sellers ended up refunding my money.

Typically the shipper must initiate the claim.

The Minty Crosman 160 I bought but never got, just got lost in transit and the seller refunded me my money but then he got the USPS destroyed Crosman 160 back a few months later and he only had it insured for $100 so that's what he got from the USPS.

It was such a shame to have that old but pristine airgun destroyed by some careless worker that just didn't care to do what he was getting paid for.

I always insure my sent items for double what they are really worth. It doesn't cost that much extra to do that, but if something happens, as in your case, it does pay off.

It's a shame we have to pay extra just to hold them responsible to do what we are already paying them to do.
That reminds me of a transmission shop owner/mechanic that told me I paid him to work on the trans, not to fix it.

I stopped by every day and loudly asked "Can I have my money back yet for that transmission you couldn't fix" in front of other customers and potential customers usually, until he relented and refunded my money so he wouldn't loose any more business.

I did notify the seller and they contacted UPS, they are investigating where the package got lost in customs, but since it is an Air gun from Spain they probably took it out to kill a few Squirrels and forgot to put it back...

A friend of mine collects plumb bobs.
He purchased an uncommon, almost baseball sized on from the UK. It was hollow and at one time filled with mercury.
Customs snagged it up, held it for several months. Went through all the search obstacles.
They finally sent it to him with several sheets of paper describing how naughty it is to ship explosives.

It has always been my worry in receiving orders for AG's or parts from overseas.
I lucked in receiving a DAR adaptor last week from Slovakia it took 4 weeks and I almost gave it up for loss.

Be patient. When I ordered my Cometa Mini BP from them, it disappeared for a while but eventually made it. If an employee took it there is still hope. When it starts to leak, maybe he will be guilt ridden and box it back up so it can continue its journey.

My Yong Heng parts coming from China have been MIA since leaving US Customs in mid November. USPS shows that they never received the package from customs. I can file a dispute with Aliexpress in 5 more days. They'll refund my money and I'll reorder. I'm just getting parts stockpiled so I can fix it if/when it ever breaks.

UPS's insurance covers the replacement value up to the declared value/amount of insurance purchased. When you submit a claim you need to substantiate value. Since this is coming through customs, you can't really game the supposed replacement cost, because the cost is right there in the customs documentation. Any insurance beyond that value is going to go to waste.

I'm pretty sure other shippers work the same way.

So, you order a gun, or item, from a supplier... whether it includes free shipping or they charge you for the shipping, how would you go about increasing the insurance? I'm not sure I've ever seen that option on orders I have placed.
Also, again, the shipper/vendor/supplier provides the shipping.. they are the contact with the delivery service, not me. Typically they have to file the claim. I have seen it time and time again.

I wonder if they accept eBay sale prices as "substantiated value" or how that is determined if one has to go there. I think it is right/honest to just get your money back but is a real bummer like with the Crosman 160 I had bought, because I bought it for 25% of what is was worth, and there is a very slim chance I can ever get one that FINE again. But I feel like the Value of it was stolen from me after I got a deal on it. Unfortunately the insurance is handled by the seller so there is no way I can think of for the buyer to establish the actual value if it is more than the purchase price.
I have arranged to pay for additional insurance in advance of shipping on a few "auction" purchases disclosing to the seller that the value was more than I won the item for. I don't now if the insurance would have paid the value of the item or just the purchase price though.
